I have her book... I don't know if I have made anything from it yet. I have quite the library of raw books actually, though I haven't had much time to go through all of them. A while ago I made a REALLY tasty "potato salad" with Jicama and zucchini, It was really good but the only problem with a lot or recipes especially that one is that it makes SO much and the "mayo esque" dressing doesn't hold together very long, after a day it separates and doesn't look too appealing, but it still tastes ok..=/ I'll have to dig though my box O'recipes and pull it out if you'd be interested. The only luck that I have had so far with finding some sort of dietary staple I think is my morning juice which is usually spinach, apple, celery, and cucumber. Salads are good but they just get kind of boring after a while.
Yeah, I hope so. I get in routines every so often and I'll make a big batch of raw burgers and stuff, but eating the same thing for lunch every day gets a bit boring. Ha Yeah my brother and his wife live in Austin, Luckily for them they just bought a house with a pool. wow thats hot, you could do bikram yoga outside... in the shade. Do you have any good recipes your willing to share?
Stay cool =)
M'eh the journey is ok at the moment. It's hard to describe but it's kind of like a big up turning of things kind of an out with the old in with the new sort of thing. If that makes sense?? I'm trying to find where I can get an or a few aloe plants (edible ones) so I can start adding a leaf into my morning juice. Apparently is really good for the skin. But I'm not having much luck. I'm at kind of a confusing point I suppose, not fun, but I'm sure I'll be better once I get over it. =) What about you? How's your journey going? How are things for you down in Texas?
Hi Jason, How's it going?
Diggin' the music. I've never heard of Lisa Hannigan before, but her songs are great!
How are those puppy dogs of yours doing?
So.. I'm constantly making my way down to SA to visit friends and am at a total loss to find anything raw or vegetarian.. much less organic. Anything I'm missing here.. ? :)
Jason,
Start off easy with the food prep thing as it is daunting. The cookbook I started with is called "The Raw Food Gourmet" by Gabrielle Chavez. It's a great manual on how to get started. Also, a lot of raw people eat in kind of a mono way. One of my favorite meals is simply guacamole with either yam or cucumber ships. My biggest problem is making too much of something then not being able to get through it.
