Ok so to reframe the question.. Asking 'should I see a psychologist' is a little like saying 'should I learn something'? If you are asking the answer is already yah, but the more important question imho is What and with whom? There are as many cir...

Detour

I took a long time getting here,
much of it wasted on wrong turns,
back roads riddled by ruts.
I had adventures
I never would have known
if I proceeded as the crow flies.
Super highways are so sure
of where they are going:
they arrive too soon.

A straight line isn't always
the shortest distance
between two people.
Sometimes I act as though
I'm heading somewhere else
while, imperceptibly,
I narrow the gap between you and me.
I'm not sure I'll ever
know the right way, but I don't mind
getting lost now and then.
Maps don't know everything.

more on oil pulling

so i've been oil pulling for three or four weeks now and using coconut oil at first really helped make this a more palatable process. a few days ago the systemic drying of my skin bothered me enough to switch oils. coconut oil dries my skin topically, whereas sesame is fine, i used to use it straight as a moisturiser for years. today, on my third or fourth day of pulling with sesame oil, i was brushing my teeth and a filling popped off.

very weird. none of my fillings are amalgam so not quite s… Continue

Oil pulling with different oils

I tried this several years ago, but the feeling of liquid fat swishing around in my mouth - even sesame - was unappetizing and I didn't keep it up.

Coconut oil is so yummy I can pull with it every day.
Oddly, though, it dries my skin out even more. It's just like I was rubbing it all over my skin and making it dry that way. (I know, coconut oil on the skin isn't drying for everybody)

Isn't that confusing though? I'm just swishing it around in my mouth so how does it manage to dry out my skin?… Continue

Yeah- I only use certain homemade things, like masks and maybe toner. I want to try helichrysium hydrosol- I've heard it's super healing. I'm using a helichrysum hyaluronic acid serum- I mix a drop with a little collagen renewal serum (both from Garden of Wisdom) and then a drop of an avocado/rosehip oil mix I made, since the serums aren't really that hydrating.
The key with any oil is to only use like two drops for your whole face and mix them with a serum or something watery first. You won't be shiny or greasy that way.

From the research I've done on mandelic acid, it seems to be the most gentle of all the acids and it supposedly helps with collagen production. It's very gentle on my skin and I'm using the highest strength. I'm actually not a huge fan of the idea of acids but I need some extra help right now. Mandelic only needs to be used for a few days on and then you rest for a few days. At first I was going 3 days on, 1 day off. I think I'll be cutting back to just a few times a week now.
I also use the heather blossom cleanser (under new items- it's wonderful!) and the collagen renewal serum mixed with a drop of avocado oil. I make my own toner form eo's, cider vinegar and water.
I'm really hoping my protocol from Dragon will improve my skin and eliminate the need for acids;)
