When I first had durian it was brought to me in Thailand by my good friend that I was travelling with as a 'here is something you might like but I kinda don't' gift around noon-time. It smelled of sweet caramelized onions and the flesh was just so smooth and creamy I was in love with it right away. I wish I had a lot more while I was there actually, it is really really cheap to buy there since that's where it's from. Just one more reason I will have to go back to Thailand!!!

About Me:: I am a jazz saxophonist trying to make it in the big apple. I love music, the outdoors, curling up with a good book, being with friends, and dogs for a few things. I really try to see the good in every one and the beauty in every day.

Relationship Status:: Single

Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?: Mango Banana Smoothie, cashews!, avocado, fuji apples above all other apples! wheat grass shots when I have the money

Interests (outside of Raw Food):: Nothing! Just kidding. Music is my passion. I love music of all kinds, especially Coltrane, Joni Mitchell and Radiohead to name a few. I also enjoy people watching, power walking with my iPod along the Hudson River, making cards for people, and experiencing arts of all kinds!

Favorite Books or Authors:: Really into "the power of now" right now (no pun intended :-). Also just bought the best of Roald Dahl which I can't wait to dive into!

Did you go to a reliable restaurant? Not all restaurants know how to properly handle fish. Most are frozen,thawed & refreeze what wasn't use. Can also be both. Maybe since you haven't had it in a while you body responded in a certain way.
