hey that's great that you ordered the book... it is certainly a very interesting read. I don't recommend totally living your life by it though.... I did that once with other "diets" and ran into trouble. Just listen to your body and it will let you know when it is ready to make the transition.
Dr. Graham makes a great argument (like I said, I naturally found myself gravitating towards the lifestyle he promoted in his book ) but I know that if I embarked on 80/10/10 any earlier in my journey, I would have run into problems.... just remember to be patient and give yourself time, if you need it. :)
Um.. and to answer your 4 month old question... ! ... no, I sadly don't live where the yoga pics were taken anymore but did work and live at The Spa Koh Chang, Thailand for a few months.. Go there one day if you can! www.thesparesorts.net
Interesting lymphocyte study. Can you send me a link? Ahh, yes it's frustrating. At one point, I rejected the raw foods lifestyle myself because I loved to cook. How bizarre, indeed. Do you know the three stages of truth?
1. Ridicule
2. Violent Opposition
3. Acceptance
I think we are all searching for something. Nobody has all of the answers...and even if someone did, would we believe him/her?
Currently I attend community college. In an intro nutrition class, raw foods were discussed only because I brought it up. When asked about it, I told the class that I feel great, my digestion is amazing, I'm off all prescription meds and I have lots of energy. I got a lot of blank stares. =) There is a lot of stigma, I felt very isolated in that class. People get a little freaked out by it... even in an environment where ppl are eager to learn about eating right.
I think many would agree that the raw food lifestyle needs more science to back it up. Cuz otherwise we all get shut down pretty easily. Personal testimonials are not enough. We need actual human studies done by well-known, respected health professionals....or a larger movement to make some ruckus. Let's work on that.
great! thanks...yea i haven't gone to any in quite a while either. we didn't get a good turn out my first time so i haven't really bothered. i typically spend time in some of my other groups.
HI JACK! Ok, I have gotten a little more solid the past 2 weeks and yesterday I started all juices! Gonna do this, what you and I discussed, the Blessed Herbs and then liver flush. Im gonna juice as long as poss, hope I get to Christmas at least. How you doing?
I started out on my rawfood journey in the summer of 2003. I kept on track with it for a good six months with amazing results, but teetered backward into my old ways that very winter. Picking myself back up again in 2004, I was back on track and raw again with the coming spring. But due to some life trauma issues that year, I crashed hard in the winter of 2004 and had dropped to about 10% raw, started eating cooked food again, and even some meat. Basically I had given up.
I first embarked on my rawfood journey 100% solo, and I think that's what tripped me up the most. I'm inspired and motivated to forge ahead again, but this time I am seeking the support of others in the rawfood community, both locally and abroad.
I NEED YOU, MY GOOD PEOPLE!
And I hope I can be of service to you as well. :)
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)

since I find no reason to believe in 'allergies' against 'natural' appropriate stuff, I would think it's more likely just the fact that pineapple if bought in store is pretty much always unripe. Not that it matters to the situation perhaps.
...but...
Nicolas have you ever had a pineapple that does not give symptoms. In my experience around these hoods where we are there are practically no ripe pineapples..or perhaps a few dunno
Yes ma'am. Resting as completely as possible with eyes closed; getting enough water; avoiding too much sun; avoiding toxic substances (personal care products, cleaning products, etc.)
I enjoy writing about the deepest darkest secrets of my heart, about things I dont want to share with anyone..or lack the guts to share. Love letters mostly, but not always. If I have a dream I want to remember Ill write it down.

Thanks Priyam! You are very kind and generous with your appreciation, and I appreciate the specificity. I agree with you completely that fasting is generally very poorly understood, mostly feared, and almost always avoided.

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...
