I am an endurance athlete - here is my post couple hr ride main consumption:
coconut water for electrolytes
fruits for glycogen replacement - bananas, berries, etc ,
amino acid and protiens - rice protien, hemp seeds, nuts,

i have an excellent quality protein powder smoothie with a banana,or coconut water and jelly and celery and a good scoop of maca powder,works a treat...

Sorry I couldn't make it to your potluck...had a friend in town for the weekend, out and about doing stuff.
If you're in the city either Tuesday or Wednesday, I've got a couple friends of mine doing a food demo for their raw/vegan chocolates at the new Whole Foods in Lincoln Park.
