I'm afraid "minding our own business" has the sole effect of reinforcing the status quo. Silence implies consent. And as it has been insightfully pointed out, the status quo supports discrimination against bisexuals in both the straight and gay worl…
Well said Hayley.Dawn! Part of the reason I've been very private about being bisexual was because of the biphobia you've just described.
It angers me too that certain gays/lesbians have that attitude towards bi's. I mean, if anyone knows about being…
I have been dabbling with raw for about a year now (with a few dips and crises) and I absolutely love it! I just recently got my own kitchen (effectively) which is making it so much easier!! I am a dance student and work in a health food shop as a nutrition/supplement adviser to fund my studies. I have been in the natural health industry for about four years now and reading about nutrition for about seven years. I love this site!

Hi Haley!
I was able to help my yin deficiency by eating a lot of yin foods (according to the book "Healing With Whole Foods" by Paul Pitchford) and by taking Dragon Herbs Sho Wu formulation for a number of months. I had to completely stay away from any warming spices or spicy foods during that time in order to protect the yin, so I couldn't work on my spleen during that because many spleen herbs can injure yin if yin is already low.
Now I am working on my spleen and blood, taking another formula (Dragon Herbs Ginseng Longan) which is a spleen-heart tonic that builds blood. It's too early for me to tell if it's working.
I did find that it was just impossible for me to be 100% raw and tonify my spleen (since the spleen needs energeticaly warm and temperature warm/dry foods) so I do a mix of raw and cooked. I also found it necesary to add more animal foods, though you may not need to do this. I was severly kidney depleted yin AND yang) and when you get to that state, you need the big guns, LOL!
So, I'm still "under construction" so to speak, but my TCM practitioner did warn me that it might take up to two years to get normal.
Hi Hayley! How's life? Have you been to a Russel James class over there? They look like great fun. I used to live in Ealing myself...love it over there!
