I don't always know where these things come from Rawbin. It just seems to me like people get so locked into strict adherence to a form and being an expert before they even try something that they forget to breathe and have fun. I've been guilty of...
We made some treats during a party at Elaina Love's. First we melted the cacao butter in a stainless steel mixing bowl set inside another bowl of very hot water. We weren't fussy about the water temperature because we were stirring the butter arou...
Use a double boiler. Just put one pot on top of another. Fill the bottom pot with water. Use an extremely low temperature. Cacao butter melts pretty quickly. Heck, it'll start melting in your hand.
I think Shazzie makes her chocolate by melting it in a bowl of warm water no more than 30 degrees Celsius. There is a specific name given to this melting method, but I cannot recall it.
I'm on the fringe in lots of ways...natural childbirth and longterm breastfeeding, married young and polyamorous, kinky, dancer, burlesque performer, craftster, composter and permaculture dreamer. Going raw just wasn't such a stretch when I realized my "norm" just...isn't everyone else's!
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I can definitely use help with transition questions, and particularly with making things practical in the kitchen and packing lunches for portability, etc. Time management tips much appreciated! Also, while I am not taking my kids 100% raw anytime soon, I am definitely open to increasing their raw food, so ideas with that are awesome too.

I have been eating mainly raw food for about a year now generally about 80% Raw. I am gradually losing my cravings for crunchy food and have been learning to make a few healthy alternatives but it is very time consuming so I am working toward getting comfortable with simple raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.
I try to get to trader joes when I am in the city too which is not that often. I have been trying to increase forging for wild food I saved some $ this summer eating many lambs quarter plants and dandelions. I have to look into what I can forge for in the winter.
neither wins because the world isn't fair- and we are constantly having to deal with it. the more conscious you are the more you see how unethical people rule the world and you can't wish them away by feeding your happiness with cacao. it's a fun ...
How long did 50lbs last you? A week? I would recommend that a person get some greens to go along with their bananas.. did you forage for any greens that week?
Wow Id like to hear more on this from other people as well. I am not sure where to get info on things like this either- I just know my personal experience with a low carb diet. I still believe in low carb for the most part but plant based live foo...
That is a good point Angus. I have found that a lot of fundamentalist religions accuse everyone else of worshiping the devil and it like a blind hysteria- like all these other people have a black bible in their house and secretely worship a statue...

Yeah really that was just my negative response to Arnold Ehret's book from an emotional standpoint. I just found it lacking in completion. There's good logic in it though.

You know, I'm aware that we made some groundbreaking discoveries in recent years ...
I'm not going to comment on climate change. But i will comment on carbon trading. Because they can produce such a consciousness of fear out of global warming - they are able to manipulate markets much more severely - and they seem to get away with...
