kundalini is particularly good if kinda loonie, ha-ha.
Hmm I love doing yoga outdoors best by far but like you said the focus issue can be a prob.
For now, the trees and earth and sunshine make up for it; also tending a free class around town or two, and looking for others, but I like being around the house.
I injured my elbow through weights the other week and currently not getting my full range of movement which can make salutes challenging and painful when i push it.
Sometimes linament works when I'm sore, ya know that stuff like feels really hot, I like White Flower from China.
i have done ashtanga in the past for about 8years averaging twice a week, my results were fantastic...
That's impressive. I was thinkin about you and ashtanga, with your strong bod and flexibility, ashtanga seems purr-fect.
.might have to focus on the pranayama for a while until my elbow heals.
I don't have the equipment to send you pranayama, but I've been teaching it for about three and a half years. I practice it every day, feel it's vital, and worth the effort. I particularly work on the one-minute breath: 20-second inhale, 20-second suspension, 20-second exhale. I average 10-15 second on each one, more if lying down, which I rarely do. I do for 31-minutes minimum. In the hot summer, I naturally wake up around 4 in the am and jump right in, Heaven!! Sometimes for an hour, then some hatha, more kundalini, back to sleep around 7am, when I wake up I practice Maharaji's 4 techniques of Knowledge.
Many other pranayams have complicated hand/arm positions, hard to describe.
was also contemplating ashtanga teacher training when I was on Koh Phangan in Thailand last year, pretty cheap and great location...ahhh options options.
Thai massage? R u gonna learn it?

so no more ashtanga? I really love it and was searching for inspiration to get back into it.
What exactly is kundalini yoga? More gentle, focusing on breathing?
Tar :)
Yo Tar (Freely Loving), well said, Kundalini is that. I allays encourage peopers to try a class, they might even bang a gong at the end, serious, 32" gong, big-time focus on breathing, like 3-11 minutes sitting just doing that. We had 75-minute classes, I went everyday for over four years, just dropped out, studio politics, everywhere I go, plus especially I want to practice on the lawn in the sun, save over two-hours travel and class time by practicing at home, problem is def more focused at studio than at home.
Do ashtanga! It is great, people LOVE it. Big shots like David Swensen come here and teach, famous peepers like that, students love it. It's a big deal in Austin. If I casually practiced I'd be okay, but the temptation is to keep up with everybody and it's too much for my back, which began going out when I was about twenty-four, many years of chiropractors, doing Bikram from 2002-2005 helped my back, but it still went out. Kundalini has these "spinal flexes", at least seven different positions, standing, sitting, all variations, really beneficial, I taught em to all my massage clients in '07, noone could stop me. Why try.
Bye, Tar :)) xo
I do kundalini, really good for my back, hatha and raj.
