Hi,
I am going to be starting a 2-3 week juice fast this week. Last year I hooked up with a woman thru this site and we dialogued regularly and did our fast at the same time and it was very helpful and supportive. I follow Dr. Paavo Airola's book:...
Thanks for that Frankie. Yes, you may be right. I'm thinking that I'll plough on for another week and hopefully things will clear up by then. Don't want to waste all my good work over the last two weeks. Fingers crossed
Nice to hear from you, it would be wonderful to collaborate with you as we go through this journey:) I just joined the site yesterday in getting ready for this upcoming fast, and I also noticed the use of the term 'feast'. I adopted it in my blog thinking people would respond better if that was the term everyone had adopted. it seems to originate from a site http://www.juicefeasting.com/, and they have a whole community and a 92 day juice fast plan! It was good to look over their site for useful info, plus it makes a 30 day fast seems like child's play and therefor much more accomplishable.
What do you consume on your last 2.5 week fast? Juice? I have done just water b4 and the master cleanse, both not more than a week. Congrats on the weight loss! Bigger congrats on keeping it off!! The key for me afterwards will be to stay completely off of wheat, sugar and dairy. The dairy will be easy, and I hope the 30 days of cleansing will be enough to realign my being off of the refined carb roller coaster.
I know people take lots of additional cleaning products during these fasts, as well as psyllium and a lot more things I don't know about. I am on a budget, so will not be purchasing accessory products. I have the enema bag ready, and know someone who did a 40 day master cleanse (if you don't know that's only cayenne, lemon juice and maple syrup with lots of water), and he drank a cup of laxative tea every night and said it worked to keep things moving. I have a feeling I will learn about new tricks on the way as issues arise. I am worried about protein as that is my type of metabolism, so will be doing spirulina in grapefruit juice. I can't imagine that will be enough, but am not sure what else to do. Besides, this is a fast after all. Any other thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
You started yesterday? On fresh juice? Yea! So for sure when I start on Wed you'll be with me til Sunday, that's great. I am ready to drop 20 pounds and have my old wardrobe out and ready:) I was 130 for my whole life until 4 years ago when I traveled to India a lot. Stress, new cultures, new food... it all added up. At 37 it will be amazing to be back at my normal weight.
talk to ya soon

Come on woman! No time like the present! We may now have one more spot for our March 20 to May 22 internship session; this is truly a life-changing program and an amazing bargain...
Thanks Priyam! You are very kind and generous with your appreciation, and I appreciate the specificity. I agree with you completely that fasting is generally very poorly understood, mostly feared, and almost always avoided.

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...
We dont want organic pasteurized, that is the same as conventional to us. Its been treated with something to kill it because that it what people do kill beautiful things it seems. Dead people.
Hi Jeff,
Every organism is completely self-healing. When sick or badly injured enough, every species will lie down and rest completely. Fasting itself has no curative power, but when we stop processing food (the single most energy expensive proce...
