i soak mung beans or green lentils for 24-hours in a one-gallon glass jar with a screen over the top, then i drain em and rinse morning, afternoon and evening for a couple days till they're an inch or so (mungs) or half-inch (lentils). then i put ...
Hey, I thought kidney bean sprouts were poisonous unless they're cooked. Also, how about navy beans? I've been looking everywhere to find out if I can eat them raw. Any advice for a sprouting newbie? :)
Hi Francis, Saw that you had some comments about B12. I have been raw for about 2.5 years now and regularly visit an alternative health care practitioner. She muscle tests my body to make sure I'm 'getting what I need'. Recently, for the first time, I came up short in the B12 department. She then tested my body for all sorts of B12 supplements and the best one was one by veganworld.com. It's a spray and I only need 1 spray per day. So interestingly enough, I was not getting enough B12 from the plant world. If you are concerned about it, I would suggest a similar path as there is no point in being dogmatic about our raw food lifestyle to the point of not getting something right! Fortunately, the spray I got was vegan so that made me pretty happy!
I do believe that everyone is different and there is not one singular path that will just work for everyone. We have to listen to our bodies and fine tune as we go.
any luck on that la based CSA? I just left a message for this hommie on the website, Sam Alvarez. can you just imagine the wonderful surprise of, "oh damn, it's CSA box arrival day!?!" week after week?
Hi Francis. I'm at a total loss with this vitamin B12 topic. I too have been been researching on whether or not it is found in the plant kingdom. All I want is an official, definitive answer that says either yes or no, and here if yes, then here is the proof. If you come across anything then please let me know.

Hey Francis, just saw the thread on CSAs. I'm trying to decide if I want to join one soon. There is one that delivers to the Saturday Farmers Market in Santa Monica, called JR Farms I think. I found them through the Local Harvest site, there is a good page that talks about their prices and produce. I'm unfamiliar with CSAs, having never belonged to one, so I'd be curious what you think of them if you get a chance.
Well we are not early man. Sitting on the computer typeing isn't natural. Not sure what being natural has to do with working out.
Jumping rope at a moderate pace seems okay for someone out of shape or for a warm up. If you want it to be an effect...
Check out Dr. Bass' books for a much more concise understanding of his research and findings. I bought his books immediately after watching these videos, and have been reading through them since. :-) Great info, thanks for posting! http://www.drba...
I find it's quicker to make four cuts, scaling the outer skin equally then pulling it away and thumping with a wooden spoon. Plus it's less of a mess and you don't lose any juice because none of the kernels are cut :)
