I think there are so many levels at which some Vaid's (Ayur Vaid Docs) can operate. Some are so good that they can tell you whats wrong with you as you walk in to the room. Powerful.
That is a life time's commitment & practice. You can take up a ...
Hi Shayna :)
I just came across this group- I recently left a similar post on the Raw in India Group message board. Do you mind sharing how your experience staying raw in India went?
All the best,
Esther
Thank you everyone for all of your help and advice!
I'm currently doing a cleanse so I'm pretty close to eating 100% raw. However, I was thinking that it would make the most sense to incorporate some cooked grains and beans back into my diet afte...
Depends on how long you are planning to study Ayurveda & to what depth. I am no expert but we know a Vaidji in Pune who is 80+ years.. Does not look that old at all.

Wow. Best of luck on that. I lived in Kerala for 7.5 months and I think the vegetables were fine. I ate some of them raw. I got sick often, but it could have been a lot of things (such as not washing my hands properly).

Hello :)
I am currently living in Hungary and would like to move to Pune, India most likely sometime in October to study Ayurvedic medicine for some time. I have been following a raw food diet since this January and am hoping to continue it in In...
I went vegan about a year and a half ago for environmental and political reasons. Since then the reasons to remain vegan have multiplied and my greatest surprise has been the natural joy (too difficult to explain!) and push into a spiritual journey that I have felt as a result. I have decided to make the transition from vegan to raw and am very excited about it! I am trying my best to make sure that I "do it right" (whatever that means...) and get even healthier.
On a non-raw end, I am a recent college graduate and moved to Budapest in September since this is where my family is from. I work as a kindergarten/elementary school teacher/intern at a local NGO. I did synchronized swimming for 11 years and have since been finding other athletic and creative outlets.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I would appreciate any transition advice anyone can offer. I'm reading a lot and trying to make sense out of all the information I'm finding. (Don't eat avocados, don't eat avocados, eat appropriate food combinations or else... etc.)

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." -Albert Einstein

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
Just being curious again :P ...
