No, I'm not a member. But i do know Joe. I'm lucky - I'm a bit closer to both restaurants. Although I'm no longer a big fan of the OG even though i LIve in Beverly. And i luv Grezzo (my friend owns it) but i rarely get into Boston often these days. Happy New Year!

Hi Eli,

The chocolate banana shake sounds good. How do you make it?

Somehow, we feel pretty right side up,here in Australia! Not upside down at all - except when we had our previous very conservative Prime Minister.

Hi Eli,

My son is about 90% raw. He's nearly 15 years old and raw seems to be just growing on him. For many years, he's said he just wants to be 'normal' but I persisted by giving him raw. Now more recently, he's actually asked for a huge salad and like my Alissa Cohen inspired recipes. He wants to be a professional football player and realises that he feels great when eating raw. Currently, he doesn't like nuts, so I have to somehow 'sneak' them into my dishes. Still a challenge, but seems to be getting increasingly easy.

My advice would be to continue creating raw for him, but let him have 'healthy' non-raw every now and then - don't force it on him too much. He'll soon realise the difference in both his energy levels and overall feeling of wellbeing.

Good luck!

Eve

Hello Eli,

I am a Massachusetts Native, just moved back with my family from LA. Love to talk with you about what you know about the local Raw/Vegan/Vegetarian culture that exists in the area and about getting more involved.
Thanks for your reply!

Hi Eli,
Thanks for joining RawJews..nice to meet you! Hope you don't mind my chuckling at your hope to meet "folks who want to cook together" ha ha.....I'm sure you'll find many folks to walk in the tall trees, go where the wind goes and grow some sprouts...smiles, Sharon

I have done reviews of various raw restaurants on www.happycow.net - my screen name is "ivorygate". The following restaurants (in order of preference) have reviews:

Quintessence (NYC)
Pure Food & Wine (NYC)
Raw Soul (NYC)
Arnold's Way Cafe (Landsdale, PA)
Drazil (Egg Harbor Twp, NJ)
Organic Avenue (NYC)
24 Carrots Juice Bar (NYC)
Livin' on the Veg (Beach Haven, NJ)
Caravan of Dreams (NYC)

The only two I missed in the Northeast were the Energy Bar (Monclair, NJ) and Candle 79 (NYC), the latter of which is a fine dining vegan establishment with a few raw options.

Other than that, New York City was quite the spectacle.

As for California, the Top 3 were Cru (LA), Rawvolution (Santa Monica), & Juliano's (Santa Monica). Cru is one of my all time favorites ... the ambience, the menu, and the food were simply outstanding.

I plan to do a couple more of these before I'm dead. Let me know how your trips pan out.

Ian

If someone wants to control everybody and I am allowing everyone to be free you mean? I am sure there will be willing followers for whatever. Some people like to follow orders.

This has always been one of my healthier alternatives. However, usually our pizzas were done on French bread. Not the best healthy food mind you, but much better than restaurant pizzas!

Is about de-calcifying the body that can give us stones, cysts, scars, hardening of the arteries. I joined this program a few months ago and it includes a pass to see him in Costa Mesa, California (near Los Angeles, the City of Angels thankfully)...

I have a wonderful, close friend and we like to go out and talk over dinner, just the two of us, as they say. He can handle drinking. Last time, I had one 16-oz organic beer and I was hung over all the next day till 7pm. I see why they call it ...
