I'm running a marathon this Sunday!
I've been training since June 2009 for the marathon I am running on October 18th. I can't believe it's finally here. Am I nervous? Not a bit! Am I ready? I sure am!!! I've been training for the whole summer, running the long miles on the weekends and short runs during the week (6 miles is now a short run which is unbelievable since that used to be hideously long!). Happy Unshopping days
Hey! Anyone else out there boycotting the big commercially driven holidays? Since going raw, I really can't stand to shop. It just makes me tired and bored thinking about it.
I'm going to celebrate life and all that is sacred and wholly in my life this month, and that means doing what I enjoy doing...loving being in the now and avoiding anything that has to do with "have to or should". I mean, why should on yourself?

Recipe for photo 9...
Chocolate-Chai Cheesecake

Crust:
2 cups pecans*
¼ cup dates
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbs. cacao powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
♥ Process ingredients in a food processor until it forms a sticky, doughy texture.
♥ Press into the bottom of a 6 or 9-inch spring form pan.
*Pecans may be soaked and dehydrated before using to make more digestible and lower the acid levels.
Filling:
1 cup almond milk
½ cup agave nectar
1 ¾ cup cashews
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. clove powder

I'm off to Bali
Hi Beauties,
I leave today to do a 4 week stint in Bali. I'll be making all raw foods 3 meals a day for 40 yogis and yoginis at Daniel Aaron's yoga teacher training. Gabriel Cousens will be there too. Key Lime Pie Recipe
This is from Matthew Rogers at Cafe Gratitude. I changed it up a bit to make it a little easier...Enjoy!
Key Lime Pie
Serves 8-10
Crust:
1 cup shredded coconut
½ cup almonds that have been soaked and dehydrated
½ cup macadamia nuts
¼ cup pitted dates
1 Tbs. coconut oil
pinch of salt
pinch of cayenne pepper
