I used to live in Durham, CT and I used to teach math at Middletown High School!!! (from 1999 - 2004) I was a regular and It's Only Natural restaurant, and for a while they had a raw dish on the menu per my request. (I haven't been there in a while.)

WOW what a small world Dawn!!! I live in Westlake, close to Cromwell ( condo haven!)

Yep.. I been there once( their health food store twice)... food wasn't as tasty as I like( b4 I went raw).. I'm prone to spicy & I cook so much better( not to "toot my own horn" lol).. well I "prepare" now ( gotta get "cook" outta my mind!! lol)

We should do Farmers markets sometime.. I'm DYING to meet local CT raw foodists.. I joined a meet up group.. but they're in West Haven..( Catch a Healthy Habit Cafe). Wish they were closer!

I;d luv to get some local raw vegans 2gether someday & do a pot luck & exchange recipes, info, ideas.. Maybe I'll start my own group!

GREAT meeting u Dawn.. thanks for being my new friend! :-)
Big hug & best wishes..... Amanda

Hi Dawn! It's so good to see your smiling face here!!!! I know you're doing well...I've been "lurking" because everything is up in the air with me as to my path, but I'm following all conversations with so much love and such a full heart, hoping for everyone's success. How wonderful that you're now here, too!

Hey Dawn,

Thats awesome that you have read the book, although you comments suggest there may have been a few points you did not internalize.

"But, I found that for my body type it was too much fruit. I do better on more greens and less fruit"

The 80/10/10 Diet calls for MORE GREENS than any other program on the planet. 2-6% of calories from greens is more greens than people understand because nobody even knows what that looks like until they use a website like Nutridiary.com

I'm just assuming, but when you practiced 80/10/10 for a bit, I doubt you used Nutridiary.com or anything like that to track what you were eating. And I doubt you know how many calories you were eating from greens. Self-awareness is the cornerstone of health, if we do not know what we are doing then we cannot move forward.

I would like to encourage you to accept the reality that, ALL members of our species are identical and unique, simultaneously.

Identical
Our species shares one common design just like every other species on the planet.
• That's why we are grouped into one species by biologists.
• We share one set of biochemistries, that's why it's even possible to conduct studies. No commonalities, no studies.
It is for these reasons that we share one common diet. This is obvious once one begins to think about it, but yet it’s so profound because so few people on this planet understand it. Seriously folks, even in the small world called “raw food community” 99% of all the people in that community do not comprehend this!!!

Unique
“We are unique in that our perception is our reality, and each of our perceptions is unique, borne of a unique combination our experiences and our facility in exercising our various avenues for awareness. This is why each of our paths in life is unique.” -Elchanan
“Each of us develops his/her own, unique experience of life, unique interactions with others, unique perceptions, and so forth.” - Elchanan

We all had unique childhood experiences, unique parents, etc….but our overall physical design didn’t change because of these experiences.

If you are up for it, I would love to see you give 80/10/10 another shot and share Nutridiary.com pics on a daily basis so I can see what you are eating. Then we both will know if you actually did give the program a fair shot :)

High Fives,

Robby

hi stacey, I was doing Hatha Yoga, that involves asanas, prayanama, bandha and mudras. Apart from yoga we were taught Anatomy, Psychology, Philosophy etc., so that the students of this course could teach yoga and take it as a profession later.
