Today's Affirmation.

---written saturday (yesterday)--

As I was riding my bike today, words came to my mind and out as a song.

"Drink Water by the River.
Eat Fruit by It's Tree.
Nothing is Greater
than the Spirit in Me."

At the time, I was stopping in the park alongside the river to sit on my favorite r… Continue

Current Daily Routine

I've been starting my day with this:

It's usually a mix of kale, spinach, arugula, chard, celery, apple, spirulina, agave and kiwi or peach.
It's a great way to get my greens in the morning.

Then my lunch has been this:

THE BEST SALAD EVER!

I am currently eating lunch.

My salad is kale, arugula, chard, spinach and cilantro for the green part.
It also includes celery, red onion, daikon, radish sprouts, carrots, tomatoes, garlic and dulse flakes.

I think the cilantro is what makes this salad so awesome!

I did spray a little liquid aminos on the salad. Eventually, I hope to use no aminos and hope to tolerate the flavor of the vegetables without it. Kale is just so bitter and my taste buds need to adjust. I'm thinking I could soak n… Continue

Profile Information

About Me:
I call myself idarastar.
Idara means Happiness and it is my given middle name. It comes from the Ibibio people of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
Star is there because I love stars and I feel I reflect the light of the sun, the energy out there that keeps it all moving and makes things the way they are.
Some may call it GOD, JAH, MA'AT, ALLAH, KRISHNA, SUPREME LIGHT, YAHWEH, GREAT SPIRIT, ABBA, ALPHA&OMEGA. Whatever you name it, I feel it.
It's the same light force that illuminates my soul. The same force that makes the oceans move, roses bloom, mountains crumble, bumble bees buzz.
Once you realize yourself and the fire the burns inside you, use this to ignite the torch of another. Keep the flame going.

I love to live and live to love. I just don't like to work for a living, I'd rather just live. I know I'm not alone in that thought!
I'm currently in school taking core classes but I would love to get my bachelors then head out to an area where I can take naturopathic classes for my masters (arizona or oregon are my current thoughts...) and teach about optimal health and healing through the use of nature's gifts and knowledge of your self as natural health advisor.
I try to go to live music events once a week and dance until feel every muscle.. :-) Dancing on raw energy is AMAZING!
My interests in a living foods lifestyle began with vegan commitment along with my self-exploration of Ayurveda that I discovered about 3 years ago.
I've geared my life towards a 100% diet. I'm currently at a 90%+ range.
My goals are to stay away from the illnesses that have plagued my family for years (high blood pressure, diabetes and almost ever cancer you can think of ).

Please leave me comments on my blog/pictures. They are much appreciated! :-)

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
