question about my three day water fast

hey guys

So I embarked on my first three day water fast starting Thursday night .. and at this point I'm feeling very nascious and not hungry at all. I set some spiritual intentions and so I definitely want to stick to this, but I was wondering if those feelings are normal and how I could best cope with them? I'm wondering if it's symptomatic of a more emotional detox? I'm also super light-headed and low energy, and I heard from other fasting accounts that people usually get a lot of energy bec… Continue

Rekindling my relationship with Raw

Hello All!

I am bringing raw food back into my life and I am SO excited!!!!!

Not to say my life has been completely exempt of raw. For the past month I've been eating around 60%, and for six weeks before that I was in India where the only raw food I ate was mangos, lychees, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. When I first started my whole raw foods journey, I jumped straight into it at 100% (or with the intent of 100% when I still ate a few things here and there that I didn't realize weren't raw,… Continue

kombucha!

I tried my first kombucha tea last October and found it quite amazing, but lately I've been having REAL synergy with it. like wow. My whole body tingles and I'm in a state of pure elation and clear mindedness. I was contemplating drinking some every day and seeing if my body picks up on its healing effects. Does anyone have experience with this and can attest to its healing powers? I do believe its really powerful stuff just in the effects I've been feeling ..

candida test - how accurate is it?

I heard about the candida test where you spit first thing in the morning into a glass of water, wait a bit, and see if the spit is cloudy and dangles down like "spider legs" - which then verifies that you do have it! wooo

So I tried that this morning, and much to my chagrin, there were spider legs. Is this test really accurate then? Do I have the dreaded candida?

Other signs seems to be leading me towards that conclusion. Like the fact that I'm constantly craving sugar whether it be in the for… Continue

Trouble with being 100% raw after having been for six months..

Sooo I became 100% raw vegan cold turkey last September, after having been vegetarian for a couple months. It has been a beautiful journey thus far, and I am absolutely in love with the lifestyle. But my body isn't completely agreeing with it anymore. And my mind is freaking out since I was completely raw so easily and blissfully for five months, so why should I hit this wall now??

Basically, I crave sugars super badly all the time, and am not wanting to eat greens as much. I'll eat a big salad… Continue

Hope to go to India soon! I think my daughters will want to go for the next Kuumba Mela. I think that would be great for them to experience that. I want to go to Kerala. Thanks for the friendship! :)

Wow youre really 'getting it' this time around using the kind of words like 'easing into it' thats exactly the only way it can be done. Anything else is an illusory struggle out of a desire to be 'more' or perfect, which assumes youre not already! And, how else could one know that Ecstasy is our birthright without being awesome like yourself. :) Congrats :) Bless you the world over!!

hi! sorry, I didn't see your question until now. I think the only way is through a blood test, but the doctor would have to include hormonal testing. The one I am deficient in is Pregnenolone. The adrenals can be easily stressed from illness, infection, caffeine, OTC meds like tylenol, stress.... My doc has me on omega 6 oils from evening primrose, which would help production of adrenal hormones. That may help, but I would suggest getting a blood work up done if you still continue to feel run down. Get better soon!

There is a NYC raw food meetup. Although fom the looks of it, its is pretty much defunct. I guess Donna Perrone is doing her own meetup now, you might try searching for that. Not currently in the city myself..possible next month.
