Sprout surcharge for people scared of eating living foods

I'm getting better at sprouting, but sometimes I don't plan well and I'm left sproutless. I like to eat sprouts every day, so when I don't have any that are homegrown, I pick up a container at the supermarket.

A local company, LEASA, supplies a big chunk of the South with its sprouts. I recently noticed a new package on the shelf - "Living Alfalfa Sprouts" (as opposed to the standard "Alfalfa Sprouts"). Since I'm now all about the living food, my immediate reaction was something like "R… Continue

He's figuring it out

My boyfriend noticed some kiwi fruit hairs on the counter. He said, "I don't like kiwi, but I'm eating it every day without realizing it, right?" I told him he was, along with kale or collards or spinach and a whole bunch of other stuff that I throw into the green smoothies I make us each morning.

He later took a gulp of the blend of blueberries, bananas, spinach, bee pollen, cacao, maca, cayenne, cinnamon, sea salt, agave, flax seeds, spirulina, and kiwi and said, "Mmm. It's like a ch… Continue

Abstract thoughts about bees and pollen

As I begin my third month of eating a predominantly raw diet, I've been thinking about some of the new pieces of equipment I'd like to get (spiralizer, dehydrator, nut milk bags, mesh sprouter lids for my Mason jars) and making lists of new foods and supplements I'd like to try (young coconuts, mesquite, chia seeds, bee pollen). I've been following this thread about bee pollen and energy, which contains a lin… Continue

I don't even know you anymore.

"I don't even know you anymore."

That's what my boyfriend said to me this morning after he noted the spiciness of the green smoothie I had made us and I told him that many cultures have been combining cacao and cayenne for years (something I heard David Wolfe mention in a video a couple of days ago) and that cayenne increases in heat intensity as it sits in food (something I noticed when I did the Master Cleanse a few weeks ago).

He said that I've become a "cultural and nutrit… Continue

That glow thing

Yesterday I had lunch with a friend whom I haven't seen since I started eating a predominantly raw diet about a month ago. She told me I look great and said, "Your skin, it..." and then she made twinkling motions with her fingers around her face because she just didn't know how to put it into words. Not yet used to this, I countered by pointing out the three massive zits on my face (which I take as evidence of my detoxing) and she still insisted that my skin looks amazing and that there's "somet… Continue

Hi Dana...you are a clementine lady!! Clementines are so juicy and fresh; and I could devour them to my heart's content. And the other thing I forgot to tell you..I love pineapple so much so that I could never get satisfied eating them.

Which is your favorite color? And why? If you have to color your house, which would it be? Nature, aka God is the only painter who can color this world with billions of colors of all shades.

With adorations..

I feel the same way, more energized and more creative, when I eat raw food. How do you prepare raw food dishes? What dishes do you enjoy the most? How many fruits do you eat in a day?

Hi Dana

The principles of Feng Shui seem logical and practical. You brought three very nice points indeed, suggesting simplicity in organization, balance and clutter-free environment. Clutter-free surroundings would empower us to create our body which is clutter-free and such a body could only reside in a clutter-free soul. When I think about clutter-free body, I think all these raw foods can achieve just that. When I think about clutter-free soul, I imagine a soul which has no pride and prejudice.

You are so fortunate to accompany a gentleman who has such an aesthetic sense of surroundings. Art and playfulness go together. Both are vehicles to a purer soul. Kudos to you.

I appreciate your views which have golbal vision. Let me learn to be more aware of the surroundings. I have lots to learn.

What attracted you to Prince Siddhartha? Are you into Buddhism?

Hi Dana

I cannot agree more with you. English literature is full of artistic twists and surprises. Words are powerful and the sound of words would provide music to ears. Word is 'Brahma'; connecting universe into a common thread. The effect of a sound never ceases to exist. A spoken word either makes or mars the world. Even amongst thousands of languages, some primodial sounds are so common, and the meaning of certain words so similar.....Without the sparkling effects that the word creates, where would we be? Would we be existent the way we are today?

When you say you are into modern designs, what interpretations can be suggested? You seem to have a talented bent of mind. I also like to play with words. That exercise creates tranquility of mind and nourishment of soul.

Thank you for your New Year wishes.

What inspires you to English literature, its grammar and its dictionary? I feel so fascinated with literary heritage that English language brings on this earth, and how connected we all feel due to linguistic power that we borrowed from its legacy...

not yet. I went to a raw potluck but not thru a meetup. There are quite a few to pick from and they seem to be great. Asheville has a HUGE raw community which is very involved.
