I share spiritual insights from the Aramaic language, teachings and culture of Yeshua (Jesus). Please feel free to visit My Website. Please do not mistake my work as being religious, but rather seeing through the fundamentalist-extremist religious walls and boundaries with awareness and insight.
I have been a vegetarian for over 19 years, since early '89, when I was 16 years old. I was QUITE the odd man out at the time! It was not nearly as widespread as it is now. But that is a GREAT thing, isn't it?
I discovered raw foods in 1993, mostly through Viktoras Kulvinskas' book "Survival Into The 21st Century", All of Paul Bragg's books and everything from Ann Wigmore. That was about all that we had at the time! And they are ALL brilliant.....
At the time ('93), I was the kitchen manager of a health food cafe' inside a health food store in Tampa, Florida. I was especially a juicing fanatic back then. I was also water fasting quite regularly or doing 2-week fresh orange juice fasting , with the mineral-rich white pith of course! It's like drinking a healthy orange creamsicle!
During the summer of 1995, I had my first extended 100 percent raw experience, which lasted about 4 months. I have focused on 100 percent raw several times since. I am about 90 percent raw right now and do everything I can to feed my family locally grown, organic foods. We have been part of a CSA through a local organic mountain family farm for 3 years now and our children love to go and help with the picking and play on the farm. It is beautiful!

Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
At the moment I am nearly obsessed with raw green foods. I drink at least 2 quarts of green smoothie a day and I am going through quite a few pounds of local organic greens weekly.
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
My family, Spirituality, Community, Earth, Awareness.
Favorite Books or Authors:
My favorite raw books are: Everything thing from Ann Wigmore and Paul Bragg (the "Old School" Original Raw Foodists!); Raw Food Real World from Sarma and Matthew; Ani Phyo's new book is great, everything from the Boutenkos, Raw from Juliano Brotman, Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine from Gabriel Cousens, The Raw Transformation from Wendy Rudell; All of David Wolfe's stuff, Dining In The Raw from Rita Romano, I could literally go on forever. At the moment, I am really loving the Harry Potter books, moving through them one by one... By far, my most-quoted book of the last 17 years has always easily been Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" - whether it is to reflect on birth, death, marriage, loss, or whatever, I can always find the perfect words withing those pages. The Aramaic Khaburis Manuscript; The Aramaic Peshitta Bible; Walden, or Life in the Woods - Henry David Thoreau; Although he has not released his first book, any of the writings or teachings of Justis Barrymore; The Illuminated Rumi – Coleman Barks; Tao Te Ching (Several Translations); The Dead Sea Scrolls; The Nag Hammadi library; CANNERY ROW – John Steinbeck; Anything from Joseph Marshall III, Robert Bly, Thomas Merton, Thich Nhat Hanh, Paramahansa Yogananda, Eckhart Tolle, Stuart Wilde, Earl Hamner or Laura Ingalls Wilder; and EVERYTHING from Garrison Keillor (I laugh my face into pain on every page!)

Oh, and a nice touch, last night my downstairs neighbour ended up playing "hallelujah" on her piano. She is a professional musician, and usually plays late at night. Sometimes when she does that I just take my yoga mat and place it on the floor directly over where I asume her piano is, and fall asleep while she is playing.
