I'm a newbie. I've been fascinated with the raw foods lifestyle for years. I even tried to go raw in late 2007, alas I ended up back on cooked foods. I also ended up gaining 60 pounds and discovering that there's something wrong with my digestive tract but the doctors can't figure it out. All in all, I'm here to fix myself.

I think that the community can support me in everything. :o)

Hi Crystal- Yes i still use bananas occasionally too because they are just so convenient. But I have been experiementing with alternatives like chia seeds and some coconut- and irish moss seaweed.
That's awesome! Haha I say that word all the time- but it still amazes me how much I like stuff like spinach and strawberries and basil. You can make it into a filling too and wrap it in a collard leaf or lettuce. I have made it like that as an hordeurve for people and they always are suprised and love it!
It is definitely hard, especially when you're just starting. My dad kind of took my veganism offensively at first lol, like I was hurting him by not eating it. He's cool with it now, he has a garden so he thinks I want to know everything about it. I might be vegan but jalepenos are still too hot for me to handle. Just stay with it and remember if its something you really want you can do it and family will support you even if they say they won't because they want the best for you.
Yup, I can say that sometimes I do miss beef patties and curried chicken. It took me a few years to totally eliminate all meat from my diet first pork, then beef, then finally everything with a face lol. I'm not totally raw so I still eat cabbage and greens and stuff just minus the meat and it tastes just as good. My aunts still try to make me eat curry goat tho lol.
OMG Seriously- since I have been here I have been suffering from intense allergies that I never had before. Otherwise it seems like a pretty interesting and progressive place..
Sorry sometimes I write something and don't write it out clearly. Not so much transitioning to something, but something that comes and goes, very transitory. Like a snow ball comes and melts and thats the end of the story. People don't cry when a ...
Torchwood, Doctor Who, Fringe, Sanctuary... Ace of Cakes. My brother and his wife got their wedding cake from there btw, I'm totally going to add pictures of it because it's that awesome.

I'm glad you disagree with my definition of spirituality. I was thinking about that in regards to this thread actually. Most things you can analyze and chop up logically but individual preferences not so easy. I think what I was trying to mean by ...
Hi April,
We get a fair number of applicants, and it varies all the time.
It is absolutely NOT required that someone be raw for any length of time. What is required is that someone be truly open and coachable.
This is paradigm-busting stuff bas...
