I first entered the wonderful world of living foods in late 1997 after reading a book by Victoras Kulvinskas. From here my journey toward a predominately living food diet started. In fall of 1999 I went through a course being given by the Boutenko family on becoming a Living Food Gourmet Chef, worked with the Boutenko family and preceded to do one calendar year on a strict raw vegan diet. Over the last decade I have experimented with my body through diet and various forms of exercise. During that time I have found what works best for me is to maintain a high level of Living foods (85-100% depending on the day) and to maintain a moderate level of exercise that enlivens me and helps bring me closer to nature. Among my top picks are rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, long river walks, and above all yoga (asana). I have found in addition to living a life which is gentle and loving towards this body I walk around in, it is vital to be of service to the earth and those around me. A life lived in service helps us to forget the little I that is inside of us screaming its importance and to start realizing the bigger Self that is all encompassing of everyone and everything around us. It was no suprise to me when in 2001 I came across the teachings of Yoganada and found that my life was setup in such a way that I was already living mostly according to his teachings (He teaches the ideal diet being 80% or better living foods, coupled with plenty of sunshine and outdoor activity, service and Meditation!!). At this point I learned the divine techniques of Energization exercises (exercise for the will and body), Hong-Sau (Ham-Sa, So-Hum), Aum, and Kriya; my life has never been the same. Above all else in my life is my dedication to meditation and to doing my best each day to live a life of service. I have found my life to be full of amazing Blessings and Grace, and am ever thankful to each moment that comes! Big Smiles and Tight Hugs!! ♥ Christopher
