I have a bonafide pear addiction. I struggle with being a fulltime barista and being a fulltime raw foodie! I can't get enough of cucumbers and tomatoes in this summer heat. We are products of nature and need to treat ourselves as such! I am excited to see how this movement continues to grow every day! Here's to living! I believe that we can never justify supplying life with death in our current society.
Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
Right now, I would have to say fresh gazpacho!
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
Painting, drawing, traveling all over the world and in my own backyard, climbing various surfaces, speaking up and out, sun-soaking, annnnnnnnnnnd being creative with foods when i have the time! I also really enjoy hammocks in trees.

hi, i'm in dc and eat raw food. are you a rock climber? i love to rock climb. enjoy the rest of the tomatoes and cucs before the season ends :)
People have to be ready.... you cant make anyone do anything. I had people tell me things tons of times and I just wasnt ready until I was ready. All you can do is be an example and gently offer information.
I think juicing is too much if she doesnt have a solid diet. I would recommend her trying to do a completely raw meal per day. That is a wonderful start!
I want to share this crunchy chocolate topping i usually put on top of raw ice cream. I made it out of 2T coconut oil, 1 T cacao powder and agave to taste. Pour it over the ice cream. Yummm.
AH! A fellow barista! Ya, I've been doing two things that really help, MissMare. 1) I keep a container of Living Green powder below the bar in the fridge. I mix it up whenever I am feeling a craving, and its alkalinity makes me realize that I really do not want te acidity of coffee. 2) I sip coffee out of a single shotmug, instead of a larger cup, and it helps me to limit my intake, and reminds me that it is only the taste that I want (I am not addicted to caffeine).
i'm a barista and bake everyday (wishing i could make my shop 100% raw, but I'm in Wisconsin and people are already freaked out that my espresso bar doesn't offer DAIRY). i went off coffee with the green smoothies, but have a problem with NOT sampling my vegan cookies after I've baked them (or before). hoping it will get easier as i get into the right routine.
Thanks! Oh man, I'm visiting some friends in San Francisco, and OH. MY. GOD! It is so easy to be raw here with all of the corner markets in the mission, I am definately envious.
And no, I haven't been there. I'm actually moving there in a couple weeks, but not there yet...what's Java Green?
lol i didn't mean, btw, that worshipping Jesus is not good :) i more meant that, in my opinion, it's his message that should be worshipped and not the unique-being. grand appreciation, though :)
