CANCER Article

This is an excerpt from an article just sent out from Johns Hopkins University on Cancer. It is no surprise that they are saying that chemotherapy is not exactly the best way....here are things they mentioned.

IN OTHER WORDS:
Raw food ROCKS!!

----------------------------

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural… Continue

I feel so amazing!!!

When I started eating raw, I was coming down with whatever has been going around Austin this cedar season....within 3 DAYS I was completely better. I was feeling all of the bad signs like fever and (sorry its gross) drainage and coughing and what not....

I feel AMAZING and its like this raw food just flushed it out like it was nothing. I am sold. This is truly what I have been waiting for. I don't feel tired or run down anymore. I wake up with ease! My insides feel....just amazing and clean and… Continue

Sprouted bread?

I am exploring all of the different foods I have as options as I continue my raw journey...
Does anyone have an opinion on sprouted breads, as in a brand like Ezekiel or a local company?
Could it be on my menu or is it not a popular raw choice?
Also, I just invested in a juicer and am about to do the same for a Dehydrator-any cool recipes to try?
Have an amazing day!

Hey Caitlin, I can email you a ton of dehydrator recipes. I used to run a raw food restaurant in the Boston area and developed a great deal of recipes for people trying to transition to a raw foods diet. I know how bad the cravings can be in the beginning! I have everything from crackers, pizza, burgers and falafel's to cookies, brownies and other treats.

It is important to transition towards an alkaline, truly raw diet, but these recipes are a far better option than reverting to cooked comfort foods during moments of weakness :)

By the way, I noticed that you listed oats as a favorite... regular rolled oats are actually cooked. You can get raw oat groats online and at some health food stores, but they aren't all that common. You can soak and sprout them with rye or spelt and make your own essene bread, but don't rely on it as a staple...more of an occasional treat. I suggest reading Grain Damage by Doug Graham, as it explains how grains were meant as more of an emergency food and not a daily ritual.

Here to help :)

Caitlin...I am brand new to this whole raw thing and this site. I am planning a possible trip to Austin, Texas for my grandmothers 80th birthday and a family reunion over Easter weekend. I did a search on folks on here from Austin and you popped up. I was wondering if you had any recommendations for good restaurants that served raw food in the Austin area? What about organic food stores in the Austin area? Thanks...sorry to bother you with this.

Angus, It may seem like a piddling point, but I think it's important that we don't call theories "laws". And thanks for the clarification on this one. ----tele
