It's nice meeting at the raw union. Wow, all the way from SF to DC. We're not going to DC this time, maybe going to the Raw and Living Spirit, near Portland (from Vancouver) 27-30 Aug. Then we'll leave North America to Far East on 6th...

- About Me:
- My family started raw vegan & healthier lifestyle almost 5 years ago. I started with 70% raw, then 90-98 %, plus yo-yoing during weekends for the first 2 years. With lots of struggles and hardship (like most raw foodists), I've finally managed to stay all-raw for over 3 years.
Both of our children are eating 100% living foods for over 4 years, have ever since enjoyed superior health for thier bodies, minds & spirits. Our girl, Enen (Grace) has been Raw before age of 2, our boy, Didi (Jesse), has been 100% Raw since birth. We do LOVE & ENJOY our daily fair portion of Sea Vegetables & 3~4 litres (1 gallon) of Green Smoothies.
My partner, father of our 2 radiant children, Peter, is about 50-60% raw.

Pure Raw Ice Cream in the Cone by Grace Enen
When travelling in hot summer days, we’d got excited by visiting "Raw" restaurant or cafe. So we’d ordered their "Raw" ice cream or ice sorbet. OFTEN we found it’s NOT PURE raw when enquire more details about the ingredients, some added “raw cane sugar”, maple syrup, agaves, date sugar, non-raw non-organic honey, etc. My kids were So disappointed. That’s the challenges of doing 100% raw. Yet we don’t give up as we continue our "Eco Raw Advanture" around north America.

Living Raw in Chicago
Living Raw in Chicago
We took the 17 hours train (amtrak) from DC to Chicago. Well ... I changed our plan a little bit.
So fortunately, Emily introduced us to Linda, who is a raw chef at a vegan restaurant in Chicago & also runs great raw-food workshops. She’s kindly offered a room for us to stay. We’re blessed to access all kind of raw-food equipments in her kitchen. It makes stay on high green raw lifestyle a lot easier. Linda & her partner are such nice people to be around. Rawing around DC
Pros -
friendly locals
many health-food stores carry organic greens and dried foods
non-organic fruits comes in cases from Korean markets
frozen whole durains & young coconuts are easily available
we can get freeze dried organic corns and peas (from CA)
Cons -
organic fruits are very limited & very pricey
most organic foods are pricey
farmers markets - only open May-Oct, limited choice of produces, expansive
(cannot believe I said this, actually prefer London's)

In the past couple of days, I have had some ugly and unwelcome visitors knock on my door. Their shadows have darkened my doorway, and these guys really want to be heard!
When your “demons” come knocking at your door, and you are forced to look at...
Parsley, spinach, cucumber,celery,carrots, Apple, banana. Every now and then i throw in: avocado, pom, blueberries
I like to keep the majority of my shakes/juices made up of the greens. I throw in a dense fruit to feel full longer.
