Jason, how do you eat your soybeans? Also, what about using the same black beans the organic farmers use to plant their crops? Might that work better?
I lived for years on raw sprouted beans of every kind (among other vegan foods). I never threw ...
Hey, I was looking for a grocery list to help me get started and I came across one of your discussions. I noticed that back in January you pledged to eventually be 100% raw. I am really curious how that worked for you? Obviously it was difficult to begin with, but once you got the hang of it, did it get easier? Where are you now? How did you feel when you were 100% (or close) raw? I am thirsty for ANY knowledge and insight you can give a beginner...thanks!
Hey my older bro lives in texas. Look on meetup.com there are raw food groups on there in texas. you can easily find a food processor, juicer at a thrift store. or post that you need one of freecyclye or craigslist. free is bette. good luckr
I'll send an update about the festival! I'm not sure about any raw restaurant here. there was that one a while back, Pure, that got taken out from under the owner by the landlord and turned into a bank :( which place are you talking about?
Well, its the best speakers in the world on the subject. And it included 7 gourmet meals. They shared the expenses with the crowd last year and the people running it literally were making $9 an hour, with the main person making about $7. It is a break even for them.
Yeah, I thought about just getting a juicer, but then after doing the research I found that the blender is a lot faster and easier to clean up after. You can also do a little more with a blender then a juicer like make smoothies and such.
Raw B posted on the topic I created about blenders that the Jack Lalanne is the low cost equivalent to a vitamix. I checked it out, and I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only thing I worry about is it heating up the juice too much and killing the enzymes since it has some setting that generates heat to make soups and such. It is supposed to just be that setting, but that is some what of a red flag for me since to me that means that they don't seem to be too concerned about heating as a result of fast blending. But I can always just be smarter then the blender and put ice in instead of the water that you are supposed to add to make the juice to give it a little extra relief from any heat generated.
A juicer is definately second on my list though, since it is good to have both. I have a centrifugal one now but it is crap and all the juice comes out super frothy.
BTW: You still in Austin? I just moved here 6 months ago from Dallas, and I am glad to be here. A whole world of difference. Dallas is cool too though...
Not yet, I am gathering all the stuff I need to start the juice feast right now. I am looking for a good reasonably priced blender at the moment. I heard that you need one which is powerful enough to break open the cell walls in the greens. So I am trying to find one that can do that, but is in my price range. As soon as I can do that and collect all the supplements needed I will begin a 92 day juice feast.
