Good luck. You will love having more juicy raw goodness in your life, but stick to 1500-1700 calories.

Good luck! I admire that you did this.. we shouldn't have to worry about what we eat, but live freely and choose what we want without getting stressed about whether or not we have made the right decision. I hope the next 25 days go good for you!!

I wish you the best!

Baby Steps!

Back again from a long hiatus!

I spent the summer eating whatever I wanted (which turned out to be mostly vegan; with the exception of the occasional cheese and sushi) and just focusing on keeping an eye on my calorie intake - I averaged around 2300 per day (much higher than the 1450 goal I set for myself) but still dropped from 158 to 144 basically effortlessly (with no exercise, other than the city walking on time on my feet as a waitress). Confidence has been restored, feeling so much less d… Continue

Back again with some new thoughts and a 2 week challenge...

Hi everyone, sorry I fell off the planet for a little bit there! Here's what has gone on with me and my eating since I've last been on here (about a month ago..jeesh!):

1. Realized that I am simply not ready to take on fasting...everytime I try, I end up freaking out and binging, and starting back at square one, feeling even more awful about my body and diet. I think fasting is wonderful for those who can handle it. I, however, am not at that point. And finally, after almost a full year of an a… Continue

Spring Cleaning

In honor of tomorrow bringing about a new season, and in urgent need of some cleansing of my body, I am going to take off on a water fast. My ideal length would be 7 days, but I am going to focus on getting through to Monday and see how it goes from there.

Seeking mental clarity, relaxation, weight loss, and toxin elimination.
Spring is all about new awakening...I'm ready to wake up :)

9:40am - apple
20min power walk ...felt too crappy to continue :( hopefully tomorrow this cough will be gone?

Keeping my head up, I am going to stay strong.

fruit is calling!

I had a bit of a fall off this past week - even cooked vegan and healthy SAD food has left me feeling sluggish, bloated and off. Too much dairy and junk has left me sick - I have an awful case of congestion and no voice to be found whatsoever. Ugh.

So back again!

The funny thing is now I feel even more motivated than before...it even goes beyond motivation; I am simply just craving fresh fruit! Even while walking past soup and bagels and icecream in the dining hall, only the apples interest me… Continue

Hey Bee! I totally hear you on those soy chai lattes. A month ago I was having some form of soy latte everyday. I am proud to say now that I only have one on occasion these days, I would even say rarely! And that's with working at a coffee shop! Yay! I also wanted to let you know that I am challenging myself to 7 days all raw. I started yesterday--I ate some steamed broccoli but otherwise I stayed raw! I will let you know how my week goes! If you're interested, ill be writing about my progress on my site; rawfoodpunk.com. Talk to you soon!

Hey Bee! Thanks for the comment! Its tough, it really is. But I really just stick to the motto of listening to my body and knowing what I really want. Sometimes I do want a Mcflurry when my friends are going to McDonalds so I'll do it. But usually I don't want anything processed. The rules I really maintain are eating raw until dinner, proper meal combination, and avoiding processed food almost all the time. I am not 100% raw but I have lots of 100% days. I actually just kicked my latte habit, so thats exciting! How about you, got any major vices?

Hi juicing buddy :)
I went through a period of time when I was gaining weight on raw food because, like you, I didn't know which type of raw diet to follow. All fruit didn't work for me because I digest it so fast I am constantly hungry, but high fat made me feel so tired. The ONLY thing that really worked for me to lose weight was following the raw diva's 7 day detox. It's basically just raw with no fat or salt, and while I think that would be hard to maintain long term, its easy for a week. I was only looking to lose about 5 pounds, and I lost 7 in that first week before I started eating a bunch of avocado again. I am certain if I kept going with it I would have lost more, but that would have been bad. I think you should try it - it's totally free and really motivating. I know high fruit or high fat works for some people, but in my very own personal experience that is what worked. Check it out and let me know what you think about it!! Have a wonderful day, Bee!

Hi Bee, I transitioned from (cooked) vegan to raw instantly after reading a raw food book. Just stopped seeing cooked food as food anymore. It took about 3 month's to loose the 30 lbs on raw but I also ate mostly fruit and veggies staying away from nuts and seeds. I also grazed on food more having a banana here a handful of baby carrots there instead of sitting down to 3 big meals a day. Hope that helps!

Hello Ms. Bee. well. I am on day 11--OMG it hasn't really been that hard but I'm going through alot of boredom thats for sure!! I sooo want to eat some junk food, I went to my parents house and they had sun chips, donut holes, fritos, etc...I'm tempted but I just told myself I have gone this far why ruin it? But the boredom is setting in for sure!! I can only eat so many salads..I knw there are some awesome recipes out there but I never have time to cook!! LOL!! How is your week going?

So how is your progress? Do you juice @ all? Seriously if I didn't have my cheap liitle juicer, I don't think I could have gone this far. I tell my friends that for breakfast I had a pear, a apple, half orange, 2 carrots, handful of grapes and a handful of spinach and they look at me like I'm crazy but its sooooo goood and filling for like 3 hrs. But the true test is going to be this wkend bc I am home alone with alot junk food and booze --- LOL but I'm going to make sure I keep myself busy and sing my heart out =)

Hi El-bo, You're absolutely right; sodium is not the problem, but sodium chloride, and inorganic mineral salt which always causes water retention and raises blood pressure. We don't need any of that.
