That sounds like a great program. Will your stay be over for the winter? Do you know anything about getting involved with a child?
There is little demand for organic produce here. I don't know anyone else here who eats raw or even vegan. We have one natural foods store, but it doesn't even have produce because it goes bad too quickly. The regular grocery store is starting to get more and more organic foods, but it is expensive and there are limited choices. I just go with what is available for a reasonable price which is a lot of bananas and spinach :)
The only thing difficult about my daughter and raw food is my family (my mom, grandma, etc.). They aren't even supportive of me being a vegetarian, much less a raw foodist. They watch her daily while I am at school and I can never be certain what junk they let her eat. I always send plenty of fresh raw food for her to eat for the day though. She is young enough still that she isn't really eating a whole lot of solids yet. I hope to have her in an atmosphere soon where other foods just won't be around so much.
That sounds so amazing. How did you get involved with that? I would really love to find something like that for this coming summer where I could have my daughter with me and be surrounded by fresh, living food. I am in Illinois right now which is not very raw friendly, but I manage to get by. My 83-year-old neighbor has 11 fruit trees, raspberries and blackberries that I help her take care of, and I have my own garden as well. We have a farmer's market but everything is sprayed. People love chemicals here. I plan on leaving this area in the spring and heading out probably to the redwoods or to the shasta area.

Yea I used to feel like that when I bought these gadgets. Now I just look em up & make them myself. They're pretty easy to make if you have basic knowledge of handy-manism.

Are you crazy women? I love animals. I had frogs, fish, birds, cats, all at one time. My apartment was a zoo at one point. My cat at that time got hold of some of my love birds. Wasn't a pretty site.
