hang in there sistar! i have gone through two minneapolis winters raw and it was definitely tough at times but things that helped me were eating heartier raw foods such as soaked and sprouted grains and legumes, and more fats like avos, olives and nuts, warming things in my dehydrator (or at super low temp in the oven), drinking lots of hot tea, and also adding lots of spice to my food...ginger, cayenne, garlic, peppers, curry, turmeric, they all work really well to heat you up inside...and all feel so much better than cooked food! good luck lady, you can do it!! Last winter was my first raw winter and I slipped back into cooked veganism. Sooooo not worth it!
I had these cravings and ideas about what certain things would taste like. Nothing was as good as I thought. Everything let me down. This winter I am making a promise to myself that no cooked food will enter my body. I am worth more than that!
Please feel free to bug me with any struggles you may need support on. I've been there and back and would love to save others the grief!
Glad to be friends! Stay warm!!!
Hi Ann, are you opposed to making a raw soup and then warming it up?
That's a great tip if you want warm foods. Even if it goes a little above 120 F it doesn't really matter. I much rather see you eat that than stuff that doesn't make you feel good.

Hi Isabel,
I wish it were that fast and easy, and I wish I could give you a formula. Unfortunately, how long it takes each person to detox depends much less on someone's age, but rather on the intersection between the level of toxicity of the bod...

Freelee, i have learned about food combining before, I guess I was just hoping that in the raw environment it would be different. But it's ok! I just want to feel good.

The best thing to do is drink green juices. Juice 2 lbs of greens per day. You are working from an old paradigm of health. Doing protein drinks doesn't help anyone. From your description you are not eating greens at all. You need to eat greens to ...
Learn about proper food combining, this is vital. Fruit is designed to be eaten alone, if eaten with fat,the fat keeps the sugar in the bloodstream for an unnatural length of time feeding problems such as candida, diabetes, adrenal fatigue etc. It...
