I'm going on a short hike at the Dead Sea this morning. Wish all of you could join me.
Will be bringing some great raw crackers, raw burgers, small salad and a smoothie.
The Dead Sea is only about a 45 minute trip from here----AMAZING!!!
Will bring back some pics!

I understand, but fruit can't be bad... our bodies are made for easily digesting fruit as energy. Maybe you don't combine it well... try once not to eat anything fat in the evening then in the morning on an empty stomach to eat grapes or pears, it makes you feel perfect and gives you energy... how would it make you fell? Try it once!
One thing is for sure if you don't get your energy from carbohidrates you take it from fat. :)
Have you ever heard of "tree of life" Juice-Fasting Retreat in Alummot Rejuvenation Center, Israel?
I have a question that makes me more and more interested as i go into raw life. I see that many chefs in the raw world make their recepies by mixing fat with starch or fruits. I mean, as besides being raw, i'm interested also in my health being, trying to make my life as healthy as posible. And after reading such gurus as Sharlton and also many other raw food advocates talk about the importance of the laws of combining. And these laws make sense for me, one of these actually make me turn my life, after splitting the proteins from the carbohidrates to different meals, i started feeling more energy and eventually undeerstood that i need no meat at all.
Secondly, the fat and fruit eaten together makes a great load on the body, moreover the fruit is not digested only after the fat does, making it ferment in the stomach. I mean, i'm sorry for asking you here about this but, sometimes i feel confused. Please help :) thanks
Glad to meet a fellow Chef. Love your pictures.

I was in Israel in 2005, beautiful country! How did you get into raw cuisine culinary arts?
Mila :-)
The raw scene in Israel is really at its beginning--especially the "gourmet" raw. By the way, it is no offense, as I've been vegan for about 26 years.
Springtime is a good time of the year to visit. Weather is just beginning to heat up depending upon what month-----It is cooling off here in the desert now but still like summer in the afternoons. Evenings are magnificent! Summer is like a bear. Produce is wonderful and there are more and more organic each year. This past year, since it has been Shemittah has been difficult. You can read my article about Shemittah via Pear magazine via www.thegardendiet.com
Shanah Tovah!!!
How is the raw scene in Israel? How is the vegan scene (if you're vegan, sorry if you're not--didn't mean to offend)?
I might be going to Israel in the spring!
