Hello and welcome Anna

Not lonely! Does anyone know if there's a way to search the site to find people who actually live in your area. I just moved to Alabama with my husband who's in the army and can't find much of a raw community here--not to mention a good health foo...

Haha..brilliant....they just started showing the Boosh here at 1am on Monday mornings, it has brought quite a ray of sunshine to my life. Amazon is selling Season 1 in US format starting in July, so I wont have to steal it off the interent anymore! Good thing too, I always felt guilty :)

Hi Anna

I am sure you must have flown in your positive energy and vibes to my place and body, because just like yourself, I also spent lot of my time being outdoor, on the backyard patio exercising, breathing, stretching, performing Yoga while listening to socio-religious lectures of a social reformer-cum-priest. The weather was very nice, the sun rays were perfect, and the mild wind was super. Let ke know how your Ashtanga Yoga goes.

I never had thought that we can achieve chi by standing still. I always thought that in order to let energy or chi flow, we need to move. But then, still meditation, mindful meditation, balanced Yoga postures..all these make perfect sense based on your explanation of Chi Gong. In which posture do you stand still? Have you heard of Mudras? Look into YouTube or goole out the concept of Mudra. Practising of Mudras also energizes and benefits physique and cures of many ailments. My parents practise Mudras.

Love and Light..

If I were in your situation, I would definitely jump to Ashtanga meditation. Ashta in Sanskrit means eight, and Anga means limbs. The Yoga practised by all eight limbs...starting from forehead and ending with toes....that's why the name Ashtanga. It's not much different...What is required is focus and mental discipline, which you can achieve either thru' Ayengar or Ashtanga Yoga. Tell me something about Qi Gung which I have never tried or seen around here. How is the weather in your area?

Thank you for befriending me, Anna. Nice name!

Profile Information

About Me:
Hi, I'm Anna and I've been trying to increase the amount of raw food in my diet, the longest period of 100% raw was two months but being the only person in my house who feels raw is right for them I fell off the wagon. I usually eat two raw meals a day and I'm really trying to get the third but I'm finding it hard!!
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Any advice, tips, shared experiences from real people would be so helpful. There are some amazing sites with info about raw food but there's nothing like the support of other people to motivate and inspire you.

Friends :-)

I'm new to GI2MR and as I don't have any 'real' raw friends I thought I'd try this. I'm not sure how you go about making new friends on here so if anybody wants to help me I would appreciate it......

I'm particularly interested in finding out more about wild foods so if anybody wants to give me any info i'd be really grateful.

:-)

I bet juggler is GREAT exercise. For the brain, with the hands crossing the body's mid-line is beneficial.

I favor organic apples on sale anywhere, especially Whole Foods, when they're 99cents/lb (culture shock).

Keep it simple! GINGER! You can make a tea with grated fresh ginger and just pour some hot water over.

Isn't the panda gorgeous? And yes it really is eating an apple. I can't take credit for the picture though. It comes from Flickr and was taken by Swamibu.

I love apples too! I made a "killer-Raw-Apple-Pie" last week, with different kind of apples in it. It was so good I can't stop thinking about it. The panda-bear in the pic is soooo cute! Did you take the picture yourself?
