I'm a yoga-loving, Vegan, Kindergarten teacher who is passionate about healthy living, healthy eating, and having a healthy mind. Currently, I am moving towards incorporating more raw foods into my diet and am in the neighborhood of 75-80% raw. I have joined this site in hopes of connecting with like-minded, socially conscious individuals who are looking to better their lives and lives of those around them.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
One of my biggest challenges is the constant questioning and sometimes rude comments from family and strangers...my friends have been very supportive. This is not just with raw food, but vegan cooked as well.
Relationship Status:
Single
Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
Guacamole with cucumber slices, Green Juice (kale, lemon, parsley, apples, celery), the sundae from Pure (OMG!),Cacao Mousse with Pecan Crust...better when it is super cold and so far, everyone has liked it! I love my green smoothie- gotta have it every morning..although it is looking more blue these days thanks to the blueberries. Also, love the Crackin' Corn Chips from Leaf- but at $9 a pop, I might have to let those go!
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
Yoga, running, MUSIC, karaoke, being with friends and family, teaching my Kinders, traveling, writing my memoir, biking on the beach, the environment, teaching kids about nutrition and exercise, reading under the covers, watching my nieces and nephew grow (those are the kiddies in the pics...I can't take credit for them as I'm not a mommy yet!), savoring the moment, and laughing til it hurts!
Favorite Books or Authors:
The Power of Now, A New Earth, The Celstine Prophecy, By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept

So we all know that Dhrumil has ear to everything and as usual, he had a hidden jewel on his blog page. I'm posting the link just in case you don't see it there. I LOVED this short film...it's super short but made my heart melt. If you don't think that love can blossom in unexpected ways, here is a sweet reminder to drop the cynicism. Love it!!
hey gorgeous, hope you're well! haven't been on this site too much but i'm feeling the need to reach out and re-connect. been jonesin' on those corn chips, may need to get a bag for myself. :)
It's rainy over here. And it started raining right in the middle of me writing a text message and my phone (a new one, incidentally) got really wet and I was afraid it was gonna short circuit or something, but so far, so good. I've got my phone on the raw diet too so it appears to be working.
Maybe he did?
If you're trying to argue that children have an aversion to putting anything in their mouth and eating it you need to argue with someone who has never been around kids. I have seen my nephew eat a wad of pennies stuck together with ol…
Chimps, bonobos and orangs eat a lot of fruit, but there is good evidence that chimps have dental adaptations to eat meat, but they can also do without it.
Chimps eat fruit (mainly) vegetation (rarely) and insects (even more rarely) and smaller monkeys (when available) but they are not -strict- fruititarians.
