I JUST now saw your comment asking if I know your sister. As a matter of fact I'm almost sure I'll be enrolled in her midwifery program a year from now :) What a funny little world. :)

Thanks Anita! Your message was very helpful! I think that I need to be a bit more creative! My husband is a scientist and therefore is skeptical of anything that isn't talked about in mainstream scientific literature. I'll have to find more info. to back up raw claims. I think for now, as I transition to raw, and am more of an example, he will see the benefits in me and want to change. Actually over the 10 yrs. we have been together, he has made some positive changes in his diet. My daughter is 14 months. She is so lovely....makes us giggle all the time. Thank you so much for your pearls of wisdom!

Hi anita!!!
Great to hear from you. My husband is 100% raw as well and how I transitioned him was by introducing gourmet recipes to him. He was hesitant at first because he was worried of losing his muscle mass. Protein was a big concern for him but once I dispelled the Protein myth he was fine. I make sure he gets the proper foods needed to maintain a lean muscular physique. He started at 50% and then moved to 80% within a few weeks. He loves RAW and never will go back. He is 100% raw now and loves all the benefits of it. He can eat all the raw food he wants, maintains his muscle and loves the taste. He is my biggest fan!!!
People can't believe he is 39yrs old and ask him how he stays so young and fit. He attributes everything to RAW.
I would suggest that you introduce some great desserts at first and try some pasta dishes that are yummy.
Is your concern with health? My husband has always been concerned with his body and keeping fit so when I told him of the benefits of RAW it didn't take too long to win him over. Plus I do all the cooking in the house so he doesn't have a choice.
My biggest challenge for him was getting him off meat before we went RAW. He had a very hard time with cutting out milk and meat. I told he to just try it for a week. I also made him watch many videos about meat and I read him a few pages from some books. After a few weeks he was ready to reduce his meat. At the end of 7 days of no meat and dairy he lost 7 pounds and loved the changes in his body.
He never questioned me again, and believes in me fully.
My husband wants to live a very long life and will do anything to avoid cancer and disease. Last year he went through all his cosmetics, hair products, lotions and threw everything out. He will not put anything on his skin or hair that is toxic. He is adamant about my sons lotions being "clean" as well.
My 19 year old nephew lives with us and he loves my raw food . He is from italy and his family eats tons of meat. I always offer to make him a "cooked" meal but he prefers RAW because it he loves the taste. He gets so upset everytime he goes back to italy because he can't eat raw. I will post a picture of my nephew on my so you can see how he looks at 75% raw. Before he went raw he was very bloated with a gut. He had a very hard time getting lean and never had visible abs.
My son is 50% raw and is sooooooooo picky!!! He hates to eat and especially "different" foods. He understands raw and thinks he is raw but if I put a raw pizza in front of him he won't eat it. I make him some raw treats but most of them he won't eat. He eats chicken sometimes, but no dairy what so ever. I give him 2 smoothies a day, as long as he has these smoothies I am fine with him eating cooked foods. He has soooo much energy much more then an average 5 year old.
He also refuses to eat veggies so getting green foods into him is very difficult. So what I do is put super foods and greens into his shakes and then I am guaranteed that he is getting a good supply of nutrients. I rarely let him have cooked foods in the morning. It is really convenient as well because we both make our shakes and drink them on the way to school.
Basically our whole family is 50%-100% raw including our dog!!!
How old is your daughter?

Hi!
I am in Winthrop. About 1.5-2 hrs. Not that far. Yea, Maine winters can make it tough to be raw, but there are still ways to cope. Off to work now, stay in tough. :)

Hey Anita.....yes that is sooo so true! Letting go! Its hard because the learning path we are on we want to share and bring others to! But the key is....respect them where they are and be an example to them! If we just give pure love it will bless them! As this happens our growth will flourish!
