Trying and seeing how you go is a healthy holistic approach. Its good that you still eat seafood because you want to and like to. No point in getting sucked in rule books. Always important to enjoy the journey through life. Just feel into where you are and then go step by step in your own direction.
Sounds like we have been trying different directions which is great as we can learn more from each others journey so far.
I've not tried spirallised stuff yet or any sauces. This is the stuff i need to learn to (un)cook so its great you have tried it. Sounds ideal as something new and also to add variety. Brought a raw cook book to inspire me and give ideas. Just need to get in the kitchen and get un-cooking now.
For smoothies iv been well experimenting with texture and taste combinations. My basic findings are that spinach, peppers, celery and spring onions with some broccoli and some green beans are great in various combinations. I find a cup of sprouts really helps as this adds protein and extra energy on top of some refreshing tastes. Don't forget some avocados for extra creaminess. Normally add half a cup of water when blending but not too much.
You don't want it fully liquid as you need to be forced to chew a little. This helps create saliva and aid proper digestion!
I also make just fruit ones for breakfast & haven't combined much fruit & veg as there seems to be some bad combinations due to the fact that fruit digests allot quicker than veg and so combing them creates disharmony in your tummy.
This week i need to increase my Cal's to make sure I'm getting enough fuel intake and to try soaking some nuts!
Whats on your list for the week? I need something to nag you about this time next week :)
Hullo there... :) Likewise its great to find someone else at a similar stage. I'm getting on quite well with it all, having just passed the see-what-its-like phase. Now I'm ready to go for it properly and ground in everything I need for it to be successful.
Setting some goals and checking in would be an excellent idea. It will also be great to have another soul to share my learning's with and be able to bounce tips and things we pick up along our way. Like you say, finding the shops to buy some of the stuff would be a great start.
I have been a 100% veggie for around 18 months now, previously transitioning bit by bit and educating myself as I went for a few years before that. I did eat seafood until I ate a doggy prawn a few months ago - I'm never going there again!
My way has always been try it and see how I feel. I never really set out to be "raw", rather to give some new things a try and see how I got on. This is how I got into raw in the first place & before I knew it the cooked food had ceased to be.
Once I bought myself a blender, there was no going back. With a new job getting back from work tired I started trying green smoothies for dinner. All the tiredness and drain was gone in 5 minutes so after a week I was hooked! Its been a month or two going strong since. Its amazing after such a short time, that eating any cooked food now makes me feel like my head has been steamrolled & I could sleep for week.
Currently I would say I'm around 80-90% raw. Yulp. I'm currently on a mission to scoop up information and turn it into reality, making sure that I'm getting everything I (well we) need. Its also time to learn how to um (un)cook again in addition to the things like nut soaking. My aim is to build up to a solid (rather than shaky)100% raw with plenty of variety before the winter sets in.
Looking forward to being new-to-raw friends on a road to health and happiness!

Hi Amy, I will be going to London next month and will be staying in Central London. I was wondering if you have any tips for raw or juice feasting. Are there many juice bars and are they reasonably priced? Also, what about farmers markets or places to get organic fruit and veggies? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I'm 24 years old and live in London. have a long term interest in health, but new to raw food, so will need you guys to help me!! x

2 apples
10 pineapple guavas
small cup steamed, sprouted black beans with raw spinach, pepper, tomato, cilantro (no salt)
2 sticks celery
6 red bananas
10 more pineapple guavas
7 satsuma tangerines

I have not used the stuff for years, it gives me heart palpitations.
but when I did use the stuff my 1st choice was liquid (especially the flavored ones they have like toffee)
2nd choice: white, which is more processed, but I can not even stomach ...

two things:
1. I read "Puttanesca Pasta" and immediately thought "ooh! a fan of Lemony Snickett?"
2. You're into EFT too? awesome!
