About Me:
I love creative art, drawing, writing, singing, playing guitar and healthy food. I graduated from Living Light raw vegan culinary art institute in 2006 as a certified raw food chef though I haven't done too much with that. I usually like my fruits and veggies just as they are but the playing and creating was fun! I've had my share of suffering and sadness but somehow managed to stay in touch with my dreams of universal love and goodness.... And I love the beach! Born and raised So Ca girl...

Wow I do feel quite a kinship to you because of this stuff. it makes me want to put out feelers for others like us "Survivors of 80's Youth Residential Reform Programs" maybe I'll do that some day. We did beat them!!!

You're OK, you know.

oh yeah, i'm right there with ya. Straight was based in Florida where I grew up. (fellow beach bum)

was it residential? I spent 19 months and 14 days inside we had no outdoor space at all because they didn't want to pay for security. We we're inside a warehouse type building. God looking back on it, it seems so un-real. how the hell did they get away with that? My family has never apologized for it either.

when were you 14?

checked out your A blog. cool stuff. i was placed in a place called STRAIGHT, Inc. when I was 15. 19 months of my life taken from me! (still a 'lil bitter) The program was a 7 step program. (based on the AA 12) The biggest difference being of course the 'forced compliance' by means of physical, mental and emotional abuse. Ya don't get that in AA, thank God. It's taken me years to unwash my brain. The place has been sued by 1000's for millions since I was there. '81-'83. They changed the company name, closed down their centres and now are the top advisors to the US gov on drugs. Nice people!

i know too much info... sorry

Thanks for the kind words and I am up for jammin some tunes any time.

You have to picture it being said with a Chris Rock voice to truly appreciate the phrase. That's how I always hear it in my head.

Nice Amy then my work on Earth is complete ! :D Yeah food and fashion is the fun things in life, even after 12+ years I am still excited well even more excited about RAW actually because it is all so new and cutting edge. And there are limitless opportunties to create and be creative, in the last 2000 years cooked fooders had their chance and all we got was war, collapse of economy, etc. now the next 2,000 years belongs to RAW FOODISTS and we will heal, love, share, grow, party! But yeah just enjoy the RAW your creativity will blossom I am sure of it!

im confused. matt monarch swears by regular colonic hydrotherapy. its his no.1 raw tip, didn't think it could be dangerous but now it kind of makes sense. enemas seem much more natural in comparison.

I've heard great, great things about Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA. I know that isn't really in the Los Angeles area, but it's still in CA and I believe they provide students the option to stay in their 'Living Light Inn'....

The way I see it is that generally people who label themselves are confident of the path they have chosen while, also generally, people don't don't label aren't quite as sure if what they're following is the right way to go.

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
