I just got my Vitamix which was a goal that was a long time in the making so I'm going to be learning some new recipes with that. I'd like to add more sunshine and swimming into my routine. Not easy when you live in the north so the biggest thing ...

Profile Information

About Me:
I am twenty eight years old and a third year law student. I don't know what else to put here. I like my cat? My cat is awesome. Sadly my cat is in NH. I could really use my cat here, since I live in a residence hall with a bug problem and my cat would totally kill the bugs.

My fiance is lately very concerned about feeding the cat. I think this is very cute. We're going to feed the cat a raw/natural diet since we don't want him to keel over from kidney failure.

I'm into green smoothies, blended soups, and salads, mostly, because they are so easy on my digestion. I love to read gourmet raw cookbooks though and thanks to the wonder that is a wedding registry am assembling the tools to get more adventurous with my raw cuisine.

I would say I'm 80% raw most of the time. This veers a little bit, as I split my time between my apartment (where I am nearly 100% raw) and my fiance's house (where it's more like 50-70%).

I definitely feel better when I'm more raw!

A New School Year, A Newly Restocked Pantry, and a New stack of books to read!

Back at home now. Exhausted too--starting the semester always wipes me out.
Eating is going well though. I have a fully stocked home pantry (yay!) with everything I need to start the term off.

Now if only I wasn't so tired and busy I'm living off green smoothies ANYWAY. :)

Green smoothies are truly the perfect busy food.

In other news, I picked up a handful of positive thinking titles (I hate the term "self help"). I'm still finishing "A New Earth", now I also have "The Power of Now", "A Thou… Continue

Alicia on Raw Food, for Once

I've realized given that I am blogging on a raw food forum, I don't talk all that much about raw food. So here's me rambling about raw food. Enjoy.

Raw food itself is meaningless to me out of context, and the context is for me is healing--body, mind, and soul. So I find that I want to talk about things connected with that on this blog because to me they are all connected and have meaning together, even if yoga, or mental health gurus, or whatever are not themselves raw food (let us hope none of… Continue

Byron Katie: A Completed Worksheet, or Byron Katie wants me to stand up to my mother and ease up on my father

This is an edited Worksheet. I edited it to follow one line of thought clearly. Also note that what I typed is a simplification of what I thought...ie, I didn't stream-of-consciousness write, I thought for a while, and when I distilled what I thought into a discrete sentence or two, I wrote it down.

It's quite long. It's in outline form because that's how I found it most useful to work.

I am sharing this due to interest from my prior post. I thought people might like to see what a Worksheet lo… Continue

Byron Katie Wants Me to Stay Out of Other People's Business

The most useful thing I've gotten so far out of "Loving What Is" By Byron Katie is the three kinds of business. She claims there are only three kinds of business: your business, other people's business, and God's business (which she means--things uncontrollable by any person for non-theists).

As I work through the four questions (really four questions and a "turn around" or two or three or four...) I'm noticing that where I tend to bring stress onto myself is when I am getting into other people… Continue

Loving What Is. Interested Alicia is Interested.

Just picked up Byron Katie's "Loving What Is" after having my curiosity piqued by Dhrumil's blurb about her talk with Oprah. I'll probably be blogging about it, as it seems to jive with where my thoughts have tended towards lately. I am inclined towards self-reflection (if you read my blog--helloooo, wide universe, does anybody read this besides me? Not that it matters, since I derive great benefit from writing it) as anyone who's looked at this blog in any detail could probably tell you. So the… Continue
