Just getting into raw AND just getting into Germany, lots of transitions, definitely have a long way to go but am trying to absorb lots of information. I'm welcoming all advice and really excited about developing/becoming part of a community around this adventure.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Bring it all. The more the merrier. In particular, low-budget raw living with minimal kitchen usage( ie I had to leave my lovely blender in Philly) is of key interest at the moment as I am a poor student :) I'm hoping to find some more French/German/Swiss contacts here, because I know I'm surrounded by health conscious people here, just have to figure out where the community is!

Hi Abigail!

Hi Abigail, just read your post on the GI2MR Germany forum. Hope you are having a lovely time over here so far. I'm living in Munich myself and have been around 65% raw for about one year now. It's still quite difficult to get nice raw food 'goodies' in Munich but I actually started my own website for Raw Organic Superfoods. I'm inviting you to take a look at the initial product brochure at: www.terraelements.net Hope you enjoy it and also get to know some cool people in Germany. All the best, Sandro
Hi Abigail,
did you get the date of my new potluck. Next Sunday July 19th. I hope Pilar can be here as well.
Would love to meet you there.
Have a great day

Oh, are you an exchange student? I am too. I got the blender for under 30 USD and it's a food processor too. It travels well also. When I didn't have one I used a grater a lot, but I don't think you can make hemp milk with that. Maybe a mortar and pestle?
Hey! NIce to meet you! I have a fairly cheap immersion blender, but I'm sure my technique works with a regular one. I probably add a 1 to 1 ratio of water to seeds and then just go to town on them. Then I pour the slurry through a strainer (I use a cheap tea strainer) with some added water to help it all go through and I can use it for lots of things. I just add it to smoothies with some water or dilute it to use on raw cereal or something. For a pleasing milk I add some sweetner and vanilla, but mostly it goes into smoothies, so it doesn't matter.
hei Abigail, yes i am kind of new to this comunity i am in berlin as i have seen you have been here and we have missed one a nother but now lets stay in tuch and next time you come to my new shop i will open in June the first rawfood superstore with living water and living food in xberg next to the water wish you good time in little freiburg are you ther for good ore for vacation??? and hei you are a good friend of michelle.... bir every thing Be U Be I
It might be useful to track your food intake with a program like Cron-O-Meter for a few months. If you choose to do so, you will have plenty of objective info about your intake of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and lipids, and you will be able to…
haha challenges are what keeps us alive keith :-) I'm totally used to the weird looks now. Eating half a 15kg melon in the middle of a mall seems to get the most attention :-D
