Hey Alexis, Saw your comment in the DC group and would have to say I haven't found an active raw group in the area. So perhaps I'll take the lead. I was thinking about inviting some DC area raw foodies to a healthy happy hour next week. Some other ideas I had were to use farmers markets as a social event. I could host a potluck/party at my apt. I organize a hiking and yoga group, so I could invite some people from that and the DC group on this site. Let me know if your interested and any good places you know of for a happy hour. ~Tony

Thanks for the tips on Costa Rica.
We'll be starting a blog of our adventures.
I'll add you to our contact list, if you like.

I wish!! then maybe there would be more raw food options for us! You're lucky to have the Whole Foods so close at AU. I only know of Whole Foods, Java Green (near me) and I think some place out by Howard that's actually GOOD for raw food. Seems like there's nothing else though! oh well, we should find all the raw foodies around here and do some sort of dinner :)

Reminder to self...

Feel like Im losing site of why I eat primarily raw... so this is a reminder to myself:
1) I LOVE the food and love the flavors... its eating out of love, not fear!
2) I feel most vibrant on a primarily raw diet
3) I enjoy the cyclical nature of soaking, preparing, consuming
4) I fee… Continue

I decided to have a 50/50 raw/cooked meal at Vita last night, having had a desire for warm meals for last couple of weeks. They had a Vegan Paella, it was amazing but it's only the second time I have had grains for a year and I had headache soon a...

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
