Worlds Highest Lake, Annapurnas, Neapalese Himalayas. This trip was a challenge but really proved to me that it is possible to do longer expeditions with raw foods. I don't believe in porters so I packed everything in myself. I was able to find good supplies in Pokhara: nuts and dried fruit, dried coconut, food bars: unfortunately the reality is dehydrated food. When I was between trips and in urban Nepal there is abundant fresh fruit and juices so I would load up before trips and for the first few days would have fresh fruit. Honestly I ate very little and enjoyed abundant strength and a walking meditation. Maybe it's breathitarianism! The air is amazing! As far as weight ratios though because of the water to energy content of fruit it's best to take energy bar type densely concentrated rations. They do grow some food but even the locals subsist off dehydrated vegetables. The staple food is dal bhat which is a potato curry with rehydrated veggies, lentils, and rice, every meal of every day. I seek to be the poster child for raw mountaineering. With advanced planning and importing super foods any expedition is possible.
I'm not really the marrying type Charles but I will heart you forever. :) xx
