  • How can one speicies have such widely varying nutritional needs? Added by Vegmo on November 13, 2009 at 7:51pm in General Chat
I get the raw thing, but how can nutritionists have such incredibly different views on what we should be eating?

On the one hand we have people like D. Graham who practically shun fat altogether, and, on the other hand, people like Aajonus Vonderplanitz who eat well over 50% fat (he claims to eat 1-2 sticks of raw butter per day, lots of raw meats, hardly any fruit, and never exercises).

This is like night and day. Is this Aajonus Vonderplanitz guy for real? Anyone tried his methods?

I just can't fathom how there could be such disparity of nutritional beliefs for humans.

yes it's rreally confusing.. especially when you take into account that most people crave things that end up killing them..

sure , it's confusing, after all we are all different in body and mind. We try to get the best of it, raw vegans in their own way, and paleos in theirs. Some are pro compassionate way of eating and getting their fats from vegetable and fruit, some are putting that aside and still eating animal flesh.
It is up to every individual to decide which path to follow.

I, personally would prefer getting fatties from some nuts, avos & durians and thrive on my personal journey.

So, I propose for you to experiment which diet work for u, how you feel about it and what makes you happy.

Yes, but we are not that different physiologically. Do you know of any other animal species with such a hugely differing diet? Usually they eat pretty much the same things. Beer makes my brain happy but it will eventually kill me. Why can't humans, supposedly the most intelligent animal, figure out what is best to eat? I've heard too many horror stories where people eat what they think is good for them but end up sorry, like fruiterians who one day find that their teeth are falling out. Oops, back to the drawing board.

And what about cultures like the Eskimos who lived quite healthy lives on mostly raw fish, seals, whales, etc?

fathom tbe simplicity of organic, living foods, grown on nutritional soil .

People try to make things complex, bigger and violent.

that's up to them - but i don't buy it. mother nature is so see through - when you look.

we don't need to discuss calories, fats, proteins, carbohydrates, trace mineral - but we seem to think it's the holy trinity of dietetics.

if you look at things logically. like the actually experiments done on digestive systems. and observing the results - in healthy people. then you get to know what is normal.

experiments done on sick people - show cloudy results - because there are so many variables which caused them to be sick.

If experiments done on sick people work, then there is obviously some merit to them, and if the same diet works for 20 years after, doesn't that say something?

We don't need to discuss anything? Really? Then why are we here? Why are we asking questions? If we don't need to discuss this then just tell me what to do.

we do not have to discuss anything - i stand by that statement - even if you took it in a different direction - then what i meant - silence is bliss...lol

. We just don't NEED to discuss the cell structure of food - to realize what food is suitable. We have evolved to a stage where we do and it is of course fine and dandy. But it is like looking through a magnifying glass - while the true beauty lies in the hills and the valleys.

sure experiments on sick people that work have SOME merit. but they are not whole complete experiments - until they are done on healthy people as well.

plus what is the scientific procedure - it's like giving medicine to one person and it works - therefore it works for everybody? no because that person recovered from illness? - why then - if not medicine ?? because their body healed itself - the medicine did nothing - it just added to the rubbish they had to remove.

feeding a sick person - some diet - whatever one you can think of. will show different results - according to the mental, physical and chemical stress - that has caused the sick person to be sick - in the first place.
it is so variable - and diets won't stop people from getting sick - if the people are not perfectly healthy to begin with. they need to be healthy first - so then preventing disease is the aim of the game. otherwise the aim of the game is raising VITALITY - so the patient gets sick and heals in the most efficient manner possible.

How do we determine some one who is sick and someone who is healthy?

Is someone who is not suffering from any outward symptoms of pain/sickness... always healthy?

There are a few signs like 7.4 ph blood - 37 degrees - straight - temperature... anything below is lacking vitality and can be considered latent disease. anything over 37 degrees is acute disease and that's a local clean out. best accompanied with rest - chemically, mentally, physically.

You can also examine and iris. And if there is nothing wrong - then they are healthy. but only about 2 people in the world can properly iridiagnose.

    Heart beat and stuff too.

sometimes you see lesions in an iris forming in an organ - and the person is not feeling any ill-health. but in 5 months later u hear they have arthritis in their hands. exactly what you predicted.

Everyone is different & there is no Perfect diet. Only what works for you as an individual. Best advice I can give is to listen to your body, make a firm decision as to what you think will provide your body with the most nutrients as well as satisfy your hunger.

Right. And from what I've seen, it seems as though the variation in dietary needs seems very specific to what a person is healing from, rather than an actual anatomical difference. Whether you're eating raw meat, fermented foods, green juices, or whole fruits, your inner terrain is still going to be much more condusive to healing old ailments than someone who lives on turkey sandwiches, diet cola ad potato chips.

Aajonus doesn't look so healthy and doesn't make much sense here. The doctors seem really ignorant too.

He said he had 300 heart attacks before he was 22 in this video. No comment.

Yeah, he doesn't look like the healthiest 62 year old. Well, at least he seems to look healthy at a glance, but he looks a bit aged for 62, and he seemed to have a stiff jaw or something going on there.

And those doctors are the typical clueless ones who are trying to tell all of us what we should be eating, and what drugs we should be taking - pathetic. I really hope something will happen that will cause the medical profession to wake up soon. As it is now, it's hopeless.
