About the wild edible plants group

This group is all about freedom. The freedom to walk the earth and forage for our food naturally.
It is also about connection to the fellow beings that we share the earth with. Plant friends that we walk by everyday (even in the city) and do not even give a second glance.
Wild plants are some of the most energized, nutritious foods around and they are right in your backyard.
Share your comments, experiences, photos, videos, and any other information you see that will give us all more knowledge about the skills of wild lifestyle.

I've seen the Spanish needle growing wild here in Hawai'i. What does it taste like?

This group is great. I'm a country girl stuck in the city but I'm going to visit my family in Maine this summer and am hoping to do some foraging. Can anyone suggest a good book for identifying basic greens and such in New England?

I'm going to try and do a few walks with Steve Brill before I go as well but would like to make the most of my time in the country.

Thank you!

I just bought an awesome book about edible wild plants in South Africa. Ready to study and use it.

Very nice on the wild raspberries!

This is something I would love to learn. When I lived in Sweden I remember foraging was a national passtime, especially of mushrooms, but it seems as though here in the UK we are positively discouraged, because of all the dangers :(
