I feel very positively about raw cacao for myself...I believe that everyone is different, and everyone needs to make a decision about it for themselves. I have more to say regarding chocolate, but I'll do that another time...but in the meantime here are some resources...

In addition to these, David Wolfe (as far as I know, the biggest raw-food guru in the U.S.) and Shazzie (as far as I know, the biggest raw-food guru in the U.K.) are both HUGE fans of raw cacao. They have written a book called Naked Chocolate, and they probably have articles as well on the subject. Shazzie has a youtube video series (4 videos) called Superfoods are for real; and she mentions as one of her top superfoods in this video being cacao.

I just read Brian Self's take. For me, I really do well with it. It has me thinking of becoming Amazonian and building a pyramid though I gotta say. It changes the way you think. My Dad had some of my cacao peanut butter cup, and was flailing and having psychodelic dreams all night in bed. It's so hilarious, he won't touch it now. It is a relationship kind of food that you gotta give and take and work on and figure out for yourself I think.

me too, i still love dates covered in tahini though.
im confused. matt monarch swears by regular colonic hydrotherapy. its his no.1 raw tip, didn't think it could be dangerous but now it kind of makes sense. enemas seem much more natural in comparison.
I've heard great, great things about Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA. I know that isn't really in the Los Angeles area, but it's still in CA and I believe they provide students the option to stay in their 'Living Light Inn'....
The way I see it is that generally people who label themselves are confident of the path they have chosen while,also generally, people don't don't label aren't quite as sure if what they're following is the right way to go.
