What up indeed! I super psyched right now, because I've brought sprouting into my life! I recently started rearranging my tiny kitchen so that I can set up some sort of sprouting rig or gear! Can't wait 'til it's done!

I sprouted some chick peas earlier this week, all went well then they began to sort of ferment and smell really bad, I looked at what the problem could be and it was basically two things together- 1) to many chick peas and 2) having to many chick peas led to the water only partly draining each time I rinsed them so over a few days leading upto a pretty big buildup of water. Its a shame because I had a few meals planned to do with them this weekend. Still, you learn each time!!

I've always had an iffy time with sprouting chickpeas because they are so quick to ferment. I don't sprout them any more, though, because I kept feeling heavy and nauseous after I ate them, even if they had gone perfectly and didn't ferment. So I've come to the conclusion that my stomach just doesn't like sprouted chickpeas and I focus on sprouted lentils for my "big starchy legume sprouts."

You need to rinse them 2 a day, even after you are done sprouting, when you have them in the fridge. Same with lentils...

If you mean the chickpeas, I did rinse them twice a day and I ate them when they were done, without storing in the fridge. I tried it three times and each time they made me nauseous and heavy feeling so I don't eat them any more. Same with wheat sprouts - just not good in my tummy.

i love sprout beans, specially mungbeans..very easy to make..simply soak the beans overnight, then following day drain the water and wrap the beans with clean cloth, set aside...and you have ur sprout....so crunchy!!!!

Yeah, the cick peas are a little heavy, I make the zuccini hummus instead, much lighter... :)
