I've been following 80/10/10 for about 4 weeks now. My energy levels improved immediately but it wasn't till the second week that my running and recovery between runs greatly improved. I run twice a day during the weekdays and average 80+ miles per week. I also noticed that the average pace on my runs were steadily improving. Looking forward to continuing with 80/10/10 and racing in 2009. Good luck to everyone!

I've been raw for 14 months......previous meat eater and detested running.....now 90% raw and running 5K daily...and up to 10 miles!....really want to run a marathon in the next 12 months. Particularly interested in raw food relative to recovery.......this looks like a great group!

Running wild and Ann Gunn can one of you explain 80/10/10 for me? Not sure what that is. I am 90% raw and am looking to become a hard core runner

When you do 100% raw 80-10-10 how do you get enough iron to keep your iron levels up? I'm vegan and mostly raw but I have trouble with keeping my iron levels up. Any advice? Also it seems like it would be hard to get enough protein on the 80-10-10 for a runner. Has any runner or athlete been on it for many years with good results?

Hey Tony, you should check out Tim VanOrden - he's not 811 but his diet is high in fruit. There's a very cool interview with him on Welikeitraw:

His website is: http://runningraw.com/ and his YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/runningraw

But perhaps you know of him already :)

Hi everyone. I have sugar metabolism issues and have tried 80/10/10. It doesn't suit me. The energy is great, but I feel spaced out, and my eyesight goes blurry. I should be eating Low GI due to a medical condition (which hopefully will be sorted out the longer I'm raw), yet when I run on Low GI I seem to hit a wall early on. I'm fine though when I've pushed through it. Any ideas?!

Hi everyone - I am a elite cyclist and wanna be marathoner who has just begun "going raw". I have lived a pretty much vegan life style for a few years so food wise no so much of a tansition. what I am curious about is energy levels and getting enough pre-event and post even carbs? I am already 14-15% bf so as you can immagine I am doing this for health reasons other then weight lose...thanks

Thank you guys for the advice! Freelee, i have learned about food combining before, I guess I was just hoping that in the raw environment it would be different. But it's ok! I just want to feel good.

The best thing to do is drink green juices. Juice 2 lbs of greens per day. You are working from an old paradigm of health. Doing protein drinks doesn't help anyone. From your description you are not eating greens at all. You need to eat greens to ...

Learn about proper food combining, this is vital. Fruit is designed to be eaten alone, if eaten with fat,the fat keeps the sugar in the bloodstream for an unnatural length of time feeding problems such as candida, diabetes, adrenal fatigue etc. It...

I reuse plastic bags till they're falling apart. I've gotten into the habit of always having a shopper or two with me or a rolled up plastic bag wherever I go.

Hmmm. I've had mine for at least 10 years. I don't know about everybody else, but I find them very convenient to use. The Chico bags that is ( an no, I'm not selling them) because I can fold them up into tiny balls and stick them into my purse. Th...

In the first stage, the diet is restricted to veggies, protein, and just a few grains (eaten in very small portions). Fermented foods and sea veggies are very integral to this diet, so it sounds like you might really like the diet. Nothing sweet ...
