Give it to me Raw

hey girls! well, since going raw, over a year ago, i've been going back and forth with this whole birth control subject. i've been on the pill for almost 10yrs now (i'm 25) to regulate my period. i was getting it extremely heavy, insane cramps, and would last a very long time. the pill regulated it beautifully. i had to play around with a few pills at first due to some mood swings/etc. right now i'm on ortho tricyclen and have been for prob 5 or 6 yrs as it has been working the best. i had a long term relationship so it also aided in that area as well.

Now i'm single, not very sexually active, raw, and dealing with anxiety. anxiety has been an issue for about 5yrs now...literally came out of nowhere. still to this day, i am trying to figure out where my anxiety problems stem from. i've read somewhere that birth control can bring upon anxiety in certain people. i'm off my anxiety meds for almost a year now and am doing everything possible to balance my body. the last step seems to be going off birth control. i am worried (as anyone with anxiety would be) that my periods will go back to how they were before the pill (which at this point, i can't even really remember how they were, its been so long) and also worried how i will feel mentally and physically not being on them anymore. i've noticed lately that even ON the pill, i have awful pms symptoms, worse lately than ever. so i dont know. guess i'm just looking for some clarity on this subject. i DO think going off the pill will ultimately be the best for me. but i'd like to prepare myself for whats to come. maybe i could just go on a lower dose pill for now...allow my body to adjust and then eventually get off all together.

anyone go through something simliar? any advice?
thanks girls!
xoxo

Taking birth control actually affects your attraction to particular men. They say when you are on it you are attracted to men more genetically similar to you and when you are off of it you are more attracted to men who are genetically different from you and more compatable. The more genetic diversity, the more healthy the child will be (if there is one). Birth control or the effects of it may have a lot to do with divorce. If a person is on it when they choose their mate they my be making the wrong choice for themselves..

Also- have you tried to manage neurotransmitters with gaba or mucuna? They are pretty powerful. They make a chewable gaba that is great. Melatonin at night can help you get the sleep you need\want which can also help maintain mood.

This is definitely a tough topic. I was on the Pill for 16 years and I regret putting it into my body that long. Physical barriers aren't as convenient or fun, but they do the job....

Lovebug....one thing...I think you will probably get what you're looking for. So if you're looking for your periods to be what they once were, you'll notice all the cramps and bad parts. If you look for how they've changed and how much better they are now that you are taking care of your body not only will you likely notice how much better they are but you'll also notice what you can do to alleviate any smaller symptoms. I will almost always advocate for more, more, more greens! Find out your optimal time of month to ratchet it up! Get enough sleep -- both huge factors.

Just to be clear, I am not giving anyone specific advice or medical or medical-like recommendations, only suggesting my personal opinions ;-)

Lovebug, have you heard of the book Depression Free for Life by Gabriel Cousens? I realize you don't have depression, but you might find some of the information useful. Alternatively, have you explored the work of Byron Katie? She has some GREAT exercises that I bet would go really far alleviating anxiety.

best,
Sharon

(feeling my wise woman years coming on here..... ;-) LOL!

Please excuse me being gross, but it's part of my reply to your thinking. I cameoff the pill after 5 years of being on it and have spoken to a few close friends who have done the same, only usually after a longer period of time. All of us had lots nad lots of jelly, slug like discharge after stopping, which made me think - yuk, what was that pill doing for our bodies to produce so much gunk after stopping it. So, if it's convient enough for you to stop, its probably worth considering it. If your single then I assue that condoms would be being used when you next have sex anyaway. Hope youget your PMT sorted.Maybe being off the pill mightgive your body teh chance to naturally sort itself out. Eating raw doesn't sort everything, but it does a lot. Best of luck. Michelle

I think its more like religious (spiritual) people are inclined towards healthy eating (raw foodism/veganism) insomuch as they recognize the value of life (which is worth living)... and the desire to enhance the quality of that life... there are...

Hi Lee, I agree with you in many ways and would have said an unreserved yes to your statement before I tried raw vegan eating. Maybe it is different for different people, but I have been totally surprised at how much what I eat has been affecting ...
