Give it to me Raw

JUST CURIOUS,

What do your parents think of your raw lifestyle?

Being raw as a teen has some totally different challenges than being raw as an adult, you know!!?!?!

Oh Yay, good topic ^-^!

LOL, yeah definetly! My Dad thinks its insane, I was trying to show him information on it and he was like -NO, it is some wack diet for old diabetics- LOL. Yikes. And my mum really dilsikes it, she feels threatend by it, and when ever I try to go on it she buys like my favourite cooked foods.

ARGH. Oh well, I don't mind, they won't stop me ;);)...

At first mine were just like yours. They HATED IT. My mom really felt threated by it, and it almost seemed like she was BAKING COOKIES more than ever before! (maybe to make me give in - it didnt work!)

Now they have kind of slowed down on hating on it -- they just dont say anything anymore.

Once in a while my mom will be like, "so... uh... where do you get your calcium!?" and i will answer her. Then the next week she will be like "YEAH soooooooo where do you get your IRON!?" and i will answer her....

it's like she is TRYING to prove me wrong. But it never works. LOL

wow same here hahaha
I live with a meathead football player for a brother a dad that thinks potato chips are a vegetable. My dad thinks i'm crazy and kinda lets me do my own thing. When I explained it to my brother he decided it was a "girl thing" or something saying that real men eat meat. My mom gets the vegan thing but she's always cooking vegetables and grilling them. Quite frustrating.

~ peace out

my dad thinks i'm deficient, and on my way to becoming anorexic and that i also don't get enough protein NOT!!! but i totally get where your coming from . my parents are divorced and i live with my mom and only visit my dad like once a year ... so the first year i visited him raw, when told him it was like i was coming outta the closet to a southern baptist priest dad YIKES

When i first announced the beginning of my raw journey to my parents they thought i was on drugs. They were pretty good about me going vegetarian, and then ultimately vegan, but this seemed WAY odd to them.

As they watched me start to change, they noticed i just seemed to be happier, more peaceful and overall just develop into a greater version of myself. They now are trying to eat more raw foods themselves! I think this is fantastic, because my parents had never even heard of this but they saw the true benefits through my experiences. I am so happy and hope they will continue on the raw path with me :)

So good luck to all of you, and as neil young would say.."keep on rockin' in the free world"

Yeah, my parents were just plain PANIC stricken and worried when I started!!!

But nowwwwwwwwww, WOW, what a change - my dad (most of the time) vegan, and my mum is working on it, and they are both high raw - but the main thing that I am soo grateful for is that they support me 100% (most of the time :).
It's still hard though, as they still have moments were they get SO worried, but hey, I don't blame them. I just educate (LOl - child educating the parent ;) them and they cool down after a while ;). But it's kinda starting again, now I'm doing 80/10/10, they shoot questions to me all the time again!! haha, I don't mind though, I just take it as a chance for me to explain to them about it.

Oooops, I'm rambling on abit here :)

OK, I guess to me getting rid of anger and envy and fear in ones self before being able to externalize it on a corporate scale just seems common sense as opposed to religious. Is that really religious? Or is it just that he is a Yogi addressing th...

Rome was AWESOME, another fantastic HBO series. True Blood is also pretty cool, but I read the books so it's bittersweet for me. Did anyone else catch Carnivale? That was really well done as well.

For a sore throat I mix salt into warm water and gargle with it. Then a warm drink with honey (nut milk, tea). Be well.

Me walking between China and Dragon as I get ready to turn them out into a big pasture. They're my buds, they stay real close to me, one on each side, whenever I got out to where they are. It is very sweet! :)

It sounds like you are not eating enough fruit. If you eat more sweet fruit, your desire for candy and other processed foods that are sweet will go away.
