Give it to me Raw

Hello everyone!

Me and my husband are finally doing something about our passion and we're starting a raw food café in the town of Kivik in the south east of Sweden. Because it's a seasonal town, we're also starting up a raw food-webshop to keep us going, we're striving to make raw foods a bit more available to everyone. Anyway it's really exciting...

If you have any tips on products which you haven't found on the scandivnavian market, or that are really too expensive or that you simply like and think should be available in every self respected raw food shop, please share. And the same goes with the menu. Is there something you think we HAVE to have, recepies, tips, questions?

This is a really fun process, we wake up everyday looking forward to the next ( I know, not very mindfullness-ish) so that we can open up soon. And since these forums have contributed so much into our passion, I was thinking I should ask and see if anyone wanted to become part of shaping the idea. Of course we want to make our place a raw fooders paradise.

Also, does anyone know of a raw food-restaurant/ café in Scandinavia? As far as I know the closest one is in Amsterdam?

The café should open sometime late october but the webshop should be up in august.

If you understand Swedish we're writing a blog about the whole process: http://kivikslillaraa.blogspot.com/

You can email me at vilda.rosenblad@gmail.com

Hugs!!!

Vilda

Raw havtorn...maybe grown by Wideum. I love a banana-havtorn smoothie! I have found Thai coconuts at Asian markets here, but not at health-food shops.

A few things I miss from the US that are hard to find here:
- kombucha...most of the kombucha sold in Europe is pasteurized too
- coconut water
- coconut butter

Wish you were opening in Stockholm! There was a cafe here, but it closed

I know, that'a why we're leaving Stockholm ;-) no, not really.

Thank you for the tips. We'll try to find all of it. So in which store have you found young coconuts?

It's a store by Högtorget...don't know the name. There are several Asian shops in the area that have all kinds of goodies.

Hi!

Theres one vegetarian restaurant in Helsinki which have also some raw food (the buffet has sprouts, salads, pates, cooked foods, fermented foods, etc. (you pay by the weight, bit expensive), http://www.silvoplee.com/ (sorry, webpages only in Finnish :( ).

That's hilareous. My husband looks at the sun to make himself sneeze. There's some weird phenomena that 10% of the population has that looking at the sun makes them sneeze.

Hi Loren. Dillon is 6 years old, very skinny and eats like a horse, I have noted in the past that when he has had a virus and been suffering from fever and lack of appetite that his autism is less severe.
