Hi, I always think polyamory is a bit hypothetical, but it's a nice idea. When you are raw vegan, just finding 1 person to have a loving relationship with, can be quite a challenge!

It's another John, welcome! I hear what you're saying. What helped me the most was starting a local meetup of likeminded people. In less than 6 months people were coming out of the woodwork. I don't currently have any sexual partners, but I am abundantly blessed with so many evolved friends in the veg and spirituality community. I feel so much love in exchange with those people that I don't feel like I have to find one person to be my compliment. I am open to wherever, however, and whomever love comes from. It's all just been part of the eventful (and busy/fast/exciting) journey towards a higher state of living.

I heart hearting!

While I'm down with the snuggle love and deep relationships, the idea of being sexual with others doesn't sit well with my husband at the moment and that's fine by me. After all, it's not just about sex, right? :-D

Great that this group exists. I love it when 2 of my 'fringe interests' come together!
I have been reading and re-reading the spiritual polyamory book, and look forward to being consciously, expansively loving, working through & releasing shame & jealousy.
If I am honest, I would like a primary partner who walks a similar life mission/ path as myself. (see my profile) I want to feel that deep connection and have kids not so far in the distant future...

Lovely to meet you Sarah.

I think it may be hard for a woman to appreciate what a challenge it is for the average man to secure a regular female sexual partner, even harder still for it to be meaningful and loving. For women getting sex is much easier. I hope you understand your husbands position, for this and plenty of other reasons, sharing each other only works in very secure and mature relationships.

Anyway, I hope I'm not stating the obvious and sounding patronising.

And no I agree, polyamory def is not just about sex, it's about loving relationships, swinging is pretty much just about sex, but this is not raw swingers!

I don't know... I'm raw (not vegan) and polyamorous and my wife and I went to the local raw gathering a few weeks ago and went over to OKcupid about a week ago and found out that at least a few of the people from the raw gathering are on there and poly.

So for me, it seems that raw and poly seem to go together rather well.

I agree Sarah, it's not about the sex, it's about relationships that don't have a glass ceiling placed upon them. It's about building a community of people you love in any way that feels right to you both.

I wonder if being raw and poly go hand in hand because raw people are so open to the beauty of the universe and all of its offerings?

I truly do not mind my husband's outlook, as sexual connections are just one side of a faceted relationship. He's an awesome father and my best friend and a thoughtful lover; I am super, super blessed. I am content to explore others, male and female, within the boundaries that are comfortable for him at this moment.

"I wonder if being raw and poly go hand in hand because raw people are so open to the beauty of the universe and all of its offerings?"

I'm sure there are parallels. Raw is definately out of the box thinking, and so is poly. I also feel a sence of embracing something bigger than myself with raw food, it is like a direct connection to life itself, and one naturally wants to share that energy.

And then again, IMO, raw people are just well sexy. I'm generalising of course. Going raw doesn't necessarily resolve problematic emotional issues, and doesn't necesserily make everyone super healthy. But, when it does come together the combined effect is superb.
