I like to use a DVD, I find it helps keep me more motivated than a book...besides the annoying thing about it book is you always have to go and look and the pictures when you're still learning. Sometimes I use the Beginner and sometimes I use the Intermediate workout.
I have a couple of books (including one by Joseph Pilates, which I like more than some of the new interpretations of his exercises), but I also catch a really good Pilates workout on TV, on the Veria network. Which DVD do you use?
I use Giaam company with Ana Caban. She's a fun instructor and quite easy to understand. It's nice becaue if you want an easire modified version you can do what her partner (Tara Russel) does. I don't do that usually. She's quite clear and she makes things interesting.
That's nice you can catch it on TV, then it's never the same program??? I don't have a TV, which is fine with me, I like using the DVDs better anyhow.
Pocketina, what's the title of Joseph Pilates book? That sounds neat!
check out the ramona dvds.... i forget how old she is, but shes getting on in years and still going strong, its amazing. shes one of joseph pilates original students. i was originally using the windsor pilates but i had to use the hour long one to really feel it... the ramona one is about 20 minutes and i could feel it MORE.... definitely check it out!
I really like the 20/20 Method. I have one of their dvds - it's from Austrailia. I find it perhaps a bit simple, but I like how I feel after I do it. As the title suggests- there's two twenty minute workouts. One standing and one on the mat.
I've tried other DVD's but always get dissapointed. Eager to find some new ones as I've been doing this one for ever!

Amen, Loren. So do you feel the same way about blending then? The whole fiber is still there with blending so not improving on nature as much as sort of 'pre-chewing', if you will
I'm planning to start enemas too (I think when my roommate will leave next month...). Of course it's unnatural, but we have eaten unnatural for years and years and I believe it can help a lot getting out the waste.
I just wanted to ask, what water...
