Give it to me Raw

Hi Everyone,

It looks like we have enough people now so that monthly Perth rawfood picnics can now be fixed events alternating Saturdays and Sundays on the first weekend of every month. Therefore the following are the next 6 months dates for picnics...
February - 12pm Saturday 7th - King's Park Pioneer Women's Memorial
March - 12pm Sunday 1st
April - 12pm Saturday 4th
May - 12pm Sunday 3rd
June - 12pm Saturday 6th
Picnics will be at set time of 12pm noon.
Picnic location(s) are not quite so well determined in advance as of yet, but this February picnic at least will be somewhere under a tree on the lawn that surrounds the Pioneer Women's Memorial in Kings Park. Link to a PDF map http://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/c/bgpa/pub/stories/common/maps_lg/kings_p... The area referred to lies around numbers 12 and 13. Also, attached is a photograph of the memorial and grounds. The location will likely be signed or bannered by a designated person attending a particular picnic (or bring your own sign or banner!).

I do hope this new plan meets with everyone's satisfaction. Now if it were me reading this without knowing about it beforehand I'd be thinking "What the...What's brought this on?". This new picnic plan was put together by the new raw organisers committee. We tried to be fair and considerate to everyone while trying to create a regular or cyclical date and venue so that plans can be made far in advance and with less effort all-round.
As some of you may remember and have perhaps since been wondering about, the raw organisers committee was started up late last year when about a dozen people out the perth_rawfood_picnics email list resolved to meet together and discuss group organisation of rawfood events in Perth. We had our inaugural meeting in December and just had our January meeting. At this point, I'll keep it brief and just say that things are looking well and we have a great visionary team (thank you!!!!) Further outward communication of the committee's proceedings will emerge as we have more time to organise ourselves in that direction. If you are interested in being a part of the committee, contact me or come to the next picnic to find out more.

Love and Peace,
Rachan

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all who made it to the picnic last month! Attached are some photos from the day.

The Next Picnic
The next picnic is on Saturday 6th of June 2009 at 12pm noon at Kerstin's (pronounced 'care-steen') place in White Gum Valley (Fremantle area)

Contact me for more info and address (Rachan 043 199 1813, admin@rawhope.org)

This will be the first time that we have a picnic out Freo way so I'm curious to see the turn-out! In case anyone requires a lift or can offer a lift, please email me.

New Raw Library Resource
I will be bringing a bunch of raw related books with me to the next picnic in an attempt to get our own little raw library system going. Eligibility to borrow any books will require filling out a membership form and a providing a $50 "security bond" that is refundable upon termination of membership and return of all borrowed items. I encourage people to borrow but also to loan or donate library books/cds/dvds for others to borrow. At this stage the library will simply be a small suitcase of books that I will endeavour to bring to each picnic.

Of course, there are several good raw books in our local libraries and it's just a matter of booking it out through your local library...check out the link below for what's available and then provide your local library with the details for the inter-library transfer...

The next picnic is this Sunday Sept 7th, 12pm noon at Hyde Park. Look for the red "raw" sign, we'll be on the Vincent St side near the mosaic tile feature. My number is 0431 991 813 in case you've any trouble finding our spot. Bring cutlery for yourself and a raw dish to share, plus something to sit on :)

I irrigate my nose with salt water after almost every shift. I use a little bit of salt with my toothpaste every now and again. My silver fillings are pretty stable and I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth whenever I use salt so I don't. Clov...

I believe that the body can heal itself if given the support. I'm a nurse in a nursing home and I've seen the body cling to life no matter how much poison is thrown at it.

Sounds ridiculous to me. Anyone actually older and experiencing longevity there? I doubt it. I live out in the country in the general direction of God's fart zone and perhaps that's better than getting caught up in this sort of materialistic stuff...

they gossip about which teams are going to trade or sign star players. Most of it is bullshit. They just create rumors to sell papers / get hits. Still I eat it up.

Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found. I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen. Healing with whole foods is a great start..
