About the Job

Requirements: 5 years organic or biodynamic farm management, experience with both horticulture and livestock; commitment to working with youth, must reside on the farm.

Camino de Paz (CdP) School and Farm, founded in 1999, is the home of a Montessori Middle School (an Erdkinder) based on a 10 acre biodynamic / organic farm. It is the mission of CdP to integrate the 20 to 25 students in the diverse operations of the farm as the basis of their educational program.

The CdP students attend farmers’ markets 50 weeks of the year. Students and parents maintain the farm most weekends. Students help with summer operations through one week rotations. The 2009 farm budget is $150,000. Sales include: vegetables, fruit, eggs, milk, cheese, wool crafting and meat (poultry, goat & sheep.) The students run a culinary arts program that produces over 5,000 meals annually from the production of the farm or neighboring farms.

The Farm Manager works closely with the Farm Director. The Farm Director spends 50% of his time in actual daily operations of the farm; 50% is spent in sales and marketing. The Farm Manager spends 75% of his/her time in daily operations and 25% in sales and marketing. The students and interns constitute the primary work force of the farm. The students use their earnings to undertake environmental field studies across the country. The Farm Manager and Farm Director are the primary adult staff members on the farm. Two Montessori teachers maintain the pedagogical connection to the classroom.

Remuneration: $35,000 to $45,000 (includes room, board, health insurance and two weeks paid vacation) based on experience. Position will fill by February 15. Couples encouraged to apply.

I am really interested in your school. a Spec. Ed and Art teacher( 25 years) with 1 year Montessori training and 2 years of experience in Montessori teaching, very interested in Permaculture and Organic farming, a Rawfoodist( 4 years), Raw chef and passionately about simple living.
I would like to know more about the school and the position available.

Hi Jeanette I just found that job on craigslist and posted it for anyone to see. The name of the school is at the top. I would just call them and see if it is still availble. Good luck!

I would love to know your plan for escaping mandatory vaccines, but I don't reckon you'll want to post it here. :(

I have never dried them myself, but in France and Italy you can buy them already dried (at what temperature I don't know). It was awhile since I ate them (before I went raw).

My saliva has never commented on how I smell. But my mouth tastes fine. And, in case you were wondering, my various excretions all smell good too!
