Raw really isn't new...its been around forever...

Sashimi

Steak Tartare

Beef Carpaccio

And being Raw Omnivore does not mean that you are just a meat eater. Quite the contrary! It just means you eat a full variety of raw foods, rather than being strictly vegan, vegetarian, fruitarian, etc.

Now the following videos show to what extremes you can go.... Could I do it? NO WAY! But it is how humans used to eat long ago...

And reminds us that we aren't much different from the bears and other predators of the world. As humans, fortunately, we can do it more delicately...more "human-ely".

I'm going to stick with the froo-froo pretty plate presentations above myself. *smile* You do what you want....

I guess the following videos are for those that want to go "all the way":

O.K. I joined this group....not because I want to go back to eating meat but that video where he eats the salmon straight from the river REALLY effected me.
Bloody ell, just to clarify, was that fish still alive when he bit into it?
Anyone!?!
Hey I have a feeling this group is going to be interesting for sure....Thanks

I think he fingered it through the gills and broke its back first. Yeah, I can't do that to a fish that way. I don't get off on it the way he and some slaughterers do. I found that video and posted it in my videos a few months ago. I got interesting things written on my comment wall. I had neighbors who killed their own meat with their bare hands. I kind of respected what they did even though I didn't use animals back then, because most of the rest of the neighbors were buying their meat frozen at the supermarket (or fried ready to eat etc).

Thanks Rawzi...:)

You see I wasn't repulsed by the fact that he hunted for his food, come on if one chooses to eat animal then that's kinda part of it.
And those people who, like you said get theirs nicely packaged and prettily prepared but couldn't handle being confronted with the not so sweet side like the death and blood aspect I find slightly amusing.
Or people who would happily eat one type of animal but not another for cuteness reasons.
Like I can relate to a fluffy bunny rabbit but not so much a pig so I guess I'll eat the pig.....
Or whatever, it's all quiet hypocritical in the meat world generally I find.
That's when I started to question my own habits. I grew up eating meat but the first time I witnessed my dad slaughter one of our rabbits, which he used to breed for food, I realized this is so not what I expected or wanted.
I don't know what I expected, but I have absolutely no problem cutting some lettuce of the ground and making it into a salad but I couldn't kill and then eat it, unless I'm dying of hunger and there would be no other way of course but that's plain survival.
I would still hate it.
It just looked like he bit into that thing whilst it was still alive and to be honest I don't see any need for that whatsoever.
But maybe this wasn't the case?!?
Interesting subject for me......

Aw, that's ok Mica,

I hope you realize, the guy in the video is doing it for money mostly. I mean he likes eating meat and I think he likes showing people how to survive, but a lot is for the camera. He was trained in British military special forces and worked in that for years. He had to kill to eat part of that time and eat it raw so he wouldn't have to carry things for months slipping around or cook and have the smoke fumes alert the enemy camps. He probably belonged in that job or liked it, or he wouldn't have chosen it, but I have no idea really, as I don't know him in person.

I have absolutely no problem cutting some lettuce of the ground and making it into a salad but I couldn't kill and then eat it, unless I'm dying of hunger and there would be no other way of course but that's plain survival.

But you are killing the lettuce. We come to more and more realizations in life if we are to live on and fulfill purposes we come to epiphanies that we are the only ones that can fulfill those great paths that need us.

My Dad never killed anything in front of me. He did slap one of my birds though, that bothered me. I guess he was ignorant to their feelings at the time because he regularly ate cooked meat.

All animals are beautiful. Laws keep us away from some, so they can control more and put us in benefitting to them ignorance. That's also why there are laws against selling raw animal products. They're afraid we'll become more in the know.

Be well,
RawZi

I love sashimi too much to give it up, especially when it comes to Chutoro (fat Tuna), Uni (sea urchin), and Ama Ebi (a breed of sweet shrimp). oogghh..

Don't mind steak tartare either, but ever since moving back to the tropics, I fear the quality of raw meat here. hmm..

Hi Dominiq. I like urchin too, with lots of lemon. I eat raw shrimp, but not in a sashimi bar. Here in the US the sashimi places cook the Ebi first. Here it is, the famous clip:

does anyone on this list eat raw dairy? we get raw milk (cow/goat) and i usually make raw yogurt, feta cheese, and kefir -- but the yogurt's so thin, more drinkable than "spoonable." Any suggestions for thickening raw yogurt?

That is a good point Angus. I have found that a lot of fundamentalist religions accuse everyone else of worshiping the devil and it like a blind hysteria- like all these other people have a black bible in their house and secretely worship a statue...
